Photo: Police Nab Kidnappers Of Elderly Women

A suspected kidnapper, Nnamdi Ethelbert, Ogidi, has been arrested by detectives attached to the Anti-kidnapping Squad, Imo State Police Command.

Ogidi has a record of kidnapping elderly women.

The 34-year-old confessed to the police that he and his gang members who are currently at large have abducted several persons out of which 15 of them were elderly women.

Ogidi was arrested after he kidnapped a 74-year-old Regina Nkwocha, from Umuanyika, Ngorokpala Local Government Area of Imo state.

They had entered negotiation for N20million ransom when detectives busted their hideout at Umuaguma in Owerri west, Imo state on May 23, 2018. Ogidi was arrested while the other members of his gang escaped.

The Imo state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi told Sun that the suspect, Ogidi popularly known as Bori and his gang members have been on the wanted list of the police over several cases of kidnapping.

The Police Commissioner explained that back in November 29, 2017, Ogidi and his gang kidnapped Adulphus Akagha aged 94; on May 7, 2018, they kidnapped 65 -year-old Dorothy Nkwo and demanded for N5million ransom.

She was later released after the family paid N500, 000.

He stated that Ogidi had successfully kidnapped Mrs. Nkwocha and was negotiating for a N20million ransom when detectives led by Supol Sani Ahmed stormed their hideout and rescued the victim.

At the police station, Ogidi confessed that he joined the gang of kidnappers five years ago. “I am from Imo State and after dropping out of senior secondary school, I learnt how to become a mechanic.

“Along the line, I met bad friends who initiated me into the deadly cult group known as Debam fraternity. Most of them were into one bad thing or the other, so it was easy for me to join a gang of kidnappers who are also members of the cult.

“We derive pleasure in kidnapping elderly women and while their family members will be running around for ransom, we will take turns to rape the women.

“Our hideout is at Egbema local government. We prefer elderly women because it is easier to control them and their family members are always in a hurry to pay for their release” he said.

Ogidi begged all the elderly women that they had kidnapped to forgive him.

“I know that we have made a lot of money from kidnapping but because of the trauma that those women who are old enough to be my mother went through, I am sincerely sorry. I still hope that the police will arrest the others because I cannot face the consequence of our action alone,” he said.

Kanye Sells His SoHo Apartment…

Kanye West's neighbor in NYC just struck what looks like a sweet deal to buy the rapper's SoHo apartment.

The pad is actually two adjacent spaces Ye purchased back in 2004 and 2006 -- one for $1.89 million and other for $1.25 million ... so, $3.14 million total.

One is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, while the other was a studio -- and Kanye eventually combined both of them into one large unit.

Well, Kanye unloaded the combined and remodeled crib for $3 million in May. Considering he paid more and then clearly put work into the place, it seems like he might have lost some dough on the deal.

However sources say, the buyer is someone who already has an apartment in the same building ... so, maybe Ye gave him a friendly neighbor deal.

Court Remands Ex-Ondo PDP Chairman‎, Faboyede, For Alleged N500m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes on Friday arraigned a former Chairman of the Ondo State Peoples Democratic Party, Clement Faboyede, for an alleged fraud of N500m.

Faboyede was arraigned alongside the Ondo State Coordinator of President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation in 2015, Modupe Adetokunbo, before the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The three charges pressed against them border on conspiracy and money laundering.

The EFCC claimed that ‎in the charges that Faboyede and Adetokunbo received a cash sum of N500m from one Owolanke Michael in the build-up to the 2015 general election.

Faboyede was accused of making N500m cash payment to the Ondo State Election Committee of the PDP‎ without through any financial institution.

The prosecuting counsel for the EFCC, E‎kene Iheanacho, said the defendants committed the offence on March 27, 2015, adding that they acted contrary to Section 18 of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 and are liable to punishment under Section 16(2) of the same Act.

But upon their arraignment on Friday before Justice Saliu Saidu, Faboyede and Adetokunbo pleaded not guilty.

The judge, while adjourning the case till September 17, 2018, ordered that the defendants should be remanded in the prison custody.

Meanwhile, the PDP, while reacting to the arraignment in a statement by its South-West  Zonal Publicity Secretary, Ayo Fadaka, said Faboyede and Adetokunbo committed no fraud.

The party said, “It is imperative to clearly underscore the fact that the N500m upon which this case is built is the campaign fund released by the party to the Ondo State PDP through the Fidelity Bank and not in any manner a fraudulent issue.

“It was these gentlemen who signed and withdrew the money on behalf of the party and this is the reason why the EFCC is prosecuting them.

“While we are not interested in the politics surrounding this matter, we however wish to state categorically that the APC is merely abusing the privileges of power to persecute the PDP endlessly, this we consider pedestrian and cheap.

“We reiterate very firmly that these gentlemen are no criminals as they only acted on behalf of the party. It is the PDP that is on trial here and as a party, we continue to repose confidence in the ability of the judiciary to adjudicate on this matter.”‎

NUPENG Threatens Nationwide Strike Over 300 Sacked Oil Workers

There are indications that Nigerians may experience another round of fuel scarcity soon as the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers on Friday threatened to embark on a nationwide strike.

NUPENG said the planned strike was as a result of the alleged sacking of 300 of its members by some oil companies.

Chairman of the union, Port Harcourt Zone, Mr. Alex Agwanwor, who said the proposed strike would be indefinite, gave a seven-day ultimatum for the sacked workers to be recalled or leave the union with no choice but to withdraw its services.

Agwanwor urged government at all levels and the Ministry of Labour and Productivity to prevail on the firms to reinstate the workers.

“A seven-day ultimatum is hereby issued for unlawfully disengaging our union members. Over 300 of our members were disengaged by some oil companies. We will embark on an indefinite strike if these companies do not reinstate these workers.

“If by midnight of Monday, July 9, 2018, the concerns of the union are not addressed by these companies, the union shall have no choice but to embark on an indefinite industrial action until our grievances are addressed.

“We are calling and directing tanker drivers, drilling workers and pump attendants to withdraw their services if there is no counter-notice to this,” the NUPENG chairman added.

Agwanwor alleged that the oil workers were laid off because they refused to sign a document that would turn them to casual workers.

Meanwhile, the union at the national level has expressed its support for the planned indefinite strike, even as it sympathised with the families of victims of the recent fire incident in Lagos, which claimed nine lives.

My Son’s Wife Bent On Destroying Him –Obasanjo’s Ex-Wife

An ex-wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Taiwo, has responded to the claims made by her son’s wife, Tope, saying she (Tope) was bent on destroying her son, Olujonwo Obasanjo.

Olujonwo had about a week ago dragged his wife, Tope, who is the daughter of billionaire businessman, Chief Kessington Adebutu, before the Ogun State Judicial Service Commission and a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Igbosere, over allegations of domestic violence, intimidation and threat to his life.

He said on one occasion, his wife slapped him twice and that she was emotionally unstable, aggressive and ready to attack him in the head anytime.

He therefore asked the court for an order directing his wife “to stay apart pending when critical issues in the marriage of the parties are determined,” among other prayers.

But in her counter-affidavit, Tope denied being emotionally unstable, saying it was her husband who subjected her to emotional and psychological hardship by abandoning her in his father’s house and rendering himself incommunicado.

She also alleged that he treated her with cruelty and that he was at an unknown location for drug rehabilitation between the end of January and second week of March 2018.

Meanwhile, her mother, Mrs. Rosemary Adebutu, also alleged that Mrs. Obasanjo collected N4m from her husband, popularly known as Baba Ijebu.

But responding to the allegations, the wife of the former president told Saturday Punch that she never took any money from Adebutu and that it was untrue that she and her son were drug addicts, as alleged by Baba Ijebu’s wife.

She said, “I heard they said I took money from him. Chief Adebutu is alive and he can testify whether I collected money from him or not. If I had taken money from him, would I still be able to talk? I never took any money from Chief Adebutu. My son’s wife is just bent on destroying him.

“They also said my son and I are drug addicts, which is a lie. What is the problem if a man wants to quit a marriage that would send him to his grave early?

“They also said my son got a contract worth N35m from Segun Adebutu and that he ran away with the money, which is not true. It is true that he was awarded the job, but he did not abandon the job.

He had started executing the job but it was when this problem arose that they called my son to threaten him that there would be war if he decided to leave the marriage. They said they would make sure they finished my son and his wife had said she would destroy him.”

“The unfortunate aspect is Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who has done nothing over this issue, and he’s the one prodding my son’s wife and her mother into continuing this because he wanted my son and his wife to stay in the marriage, so that my son could become collateral for him to keep having access to the Adebutu family.

“I leave them all to God because He’s the one who knows how to reveal things done in the secret and pay people back for their deeds. They think I’m not okay, but everything I warned them against is happening. However, I won’t let them destroy my son.”

Is Meghan About To Cut All Ties With Her Father?

Culled from dailymail;

Of all the problems Meghan Markle anticipated in her transformation from actress to duchess after marrying into the Royal Family, this was surely the one she least expected.

So imagine what must go through her mind when she reaches for the telephone to call her father. Hardly a day goes past without a headline that seemingly emanates from the private thoughts of Thomas Markle.

Just this week we’ve had reports of his sadness at not receiving a Father’s Day card from his daughter and a bizarre outburst about Donald Trump’s meeting with the Queen next month.

‘If the Queen is willing to meet our arrogant and insensitive president,’ he was quoted as saying by the U.S. gossip website TMZ, ‘she has no excuse not to meet me, I’m nowhere near as bad.’

All this has followed hot on the heels of his bombshell interview with ITV’s Good Morning Britain, in which he repeated private conversations he’d had with his new son-in-law Prince Harry and discussed Meghan’s desire to have children. It is, of course, an unwritten rule that the royals never discuss politics, yet here he was giving Harry’s views on Brexit and Donald Trump.

As upsetting as having such intimacies aired undoubtedly is for the Duchess of Sussex, she is also facing the accusation that she has now cut her father adrift.
According to reliable sources close to 73-year-old Markle, the father of three has not spoken to either Meghan or Harry since his interview with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid 12 days ago.

For his daughter there is understandable anxiety about whether she can call her father for fear that everything she says to him seems likely to appear somewhere or other in public.

It is a unique predicament for the royal family because, until now, in-laws have almost always been discreet — you need only to think of the sensibly silent Middleton family.

But discretion seems to be something that Thomas Markle either doesn’t understand or chooses not to understand. What an absurd, tawdry and decidedly unroyal mess the Markle affair has become.

From the moment he announced he was pulling out of the wedding just days before he was due to walk his daughter down the aisle at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, the unworldly Thomas Markle has run rings round the so-called sophisticates of Buckingham Palace.

To begin with, there was nothing but sympathy for the retired Hollywood lighting director and his brutally honest explanation that after his collaboration with the paparazzi over staged photographs his presence at the wedding would be a distraction.

He admitted the collusion had been a ‘serious mistake’.

Then came the news that he had suffered a heart attack and was not well enough to travel to Britain even if he wanted to.

While this seemed a plausible — if convenient — excuse, there were the first stirrings of discomfort inside Kensington Palace regarding Markle’s habit of making his announcements via the media.

Lagos Tanker Fire: Togolese President Condoles With Nigeria

President Faure Gnassingbe Eyadema of Togo on Friday in Katsina,  condoled with President Muhammadu Buhari on the fire disaster caused by a fallen petrol tanker in Lagos on Thursday.

Eyadema, who is currently the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority, said he was in Katsina to brief President Buhari on the latest situations in the sub-regional organization.

He, however, used the opportunity to commiserate with Nigeria over the Thursday’s Lagos tanker fire.

“I came here in my capacity as Chairman of ECOWAS Authority to brief him on the different situations in our region – the situation in Guinea Bissau; the situation in Mali which is going to have presidential election at the end of July including my own situation in Togo,’’ he said.

“I used the opportunity to express my condolences to the President over what happened last night in Lagos state,’’ he said.

Photo: The Prophet Who Predicted Disaster On Some Certain Days In Nigeria Has Been Unmasked

Prophet Udensi Godlove of Land of Oil Prophetic Ministry aka Hill of the Lord, Lagos is the face behind the viral audio message, which warned Nigerians to pray against disasters on some certain days. This is according to Daily Post.

In the audio, which was released weeks back but has now gone viral, the preacher specifically warned his congregation, to pray and avoid traveling out of Lagos on some certain days and avoid certain transport companies. He said,

“I saw a lot of dead people and over flow of blood, please let’s be careful.

“June 23, June 28, July 11, July 24, July 30 and August 1, these days have been marked for evil and disasters.

“Do not travel out of Lagos using any of these transportation companies on these dates.

“Okeyson, Benue Links, Agofure, Young Shall Grow, Air Peace, God is Good, Abia Links, Efosa, GUO.

“On July 22, August 5 and 19, no one should travel out of the state using plane, you can travel with them any other day but on these dates, avoid them, they have been marked for blood,” he had said during one of his services few some weeks back.

Barely one week after his prophecy, over 200 persons were brutally butchered by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Plateau State on June 23, one of the days he mentioned in his message.

Just on Thursday, June 28 (another day he mentioned) nine persons were roasted to death and more than 54 vehicles burnt to ashes after a fuel-laden tanker fell on Otedola Bridge along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and went up in flame, trapping motorists and passengers.

Practice What You Preach! Dayo Amusa Gets Rude To Fathia Balogun

Sigh! But what is wrong when a made longtime actress tries to get low and be friends with those coming behind her? Sigh! No wonder the likes of Genevieve never mingled with the ones coming behind, she saw the FUTURE… they called her a snub, then when they couldn’t ever meet her height, they were forced to turn her into a god. Just imagine an actress trying to insult Genevieve, is it not one of the actress’ best friends in the industry that will slap her on behalf of Genevieve? Infact that one would forget they are friends sef, lol.

Sigh! So Fathia Balogun wrote something about how beautiful a friendship is and how it can turn sore if certain things are missing and Dayo Amusa jumped on her page, asking her to ‘Practice what she preaches’. Sigh!

You know the irony of this all, just days ago, Dayo Amusa said the younger ones in Nollywood don’t respect their elders. Now hasn’t Dayo shot herself on the leg? Too sad! Their industry STINKS lately… Damn!

Drake Finally Confirms He Has A Secret Son

Damn! Girls are baddddd. Hehehe they just make you a father even when you didn’t asked to be! Hahaha!

In the devastating diss track “The Story of Adidon” released back in May, Pusha-T accused Drake of hiding a secret son, a child allegedly named Adonis, who he claimed the Canadian rapper was about to reveal to the world as a part of an Adidas collaboration. On his brand-new double album Scorpion, which dropped late Thursday night, Drake raps about trying to protect his son from internet rumors, single parenting, and finding out he was going to be a dad despite only meeting up with his child’s mother “two times.” All of which is to say, if Drake doesn’t have a kid, this is one hell of a concept album.

“Look at the way we live / I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid,” Drake raps on “Emotionless.” “From empty souls who just wake up and look to debate / until you staring at your seed, you can never relate.” He continues, “Breaking news in my life, I don’t run to the blogs / The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call / They always ask, ‘Why let the story run if it’s false?’ / You know a wise man once said nothing at all.”

Drake makes other references to his child throughout the album, but his experience of fatherhood is the focus of Scorpion’s final track “March 14.” Raps Drake, “Yesterday morning was crazy / I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe / That shit is in stone, sealed and signed / She’s not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine / Sandi used to tell me all it takes is one time / Shit, we only met two times. Two times / And both times were nothing like the new times / Now it’s rough times/ I’m out here on front lines just tryna make sure that I see him sometimes.” Continues Drake, “It’s breaking my spirit / A single father, I hate when I hear it.”

On “March 14,” Drake also reveals his son’s birthday (October 11, a number the rapper got tattooed in the boy’s honor) and what seem to be custody issues with his child’s mother. “I got a empty crib in my empty crib / I only met you one time, introduced you to Saint Nick / He must’ve brought you like 20 gifts / Your mother saying you growing so fast that they don’t really fit but, man, you know / I still had to get it for my boy tho.” Raps Drake, “Sorry, I’m venting trying to cover ground / They said in two weeks you’re supposed to come to town / Hopefully by the time you hear this, your mother and I will have come around instead of always cutting each other down / God willing / I got a good feeling.”

Eight Injured As Wall Of Mosque Collapses

Eight people were injured on Friday after the wall of a mosque collapsed in Model Town due to heavy rain in the Punjab capital.

According to rescue officials, the incident occurred on Link Road in Model Town, which resulted in eight people being crushed under the rubble and consequently sustaining serious injuries.

The rescue team gave first aid to three of the injured at the site of the incident, while the remaining five were shifted to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.

The city and its surroundings experienced intermittent rain last night which still continues, turning the weather pleasant after a month’s long spell of heat.

Moreover, the ongoing rain once again led to the tripping of over 100 feeders of the Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO).

Five Gambia Police Charged With Activists' Murders

Gambian prosecutors have charged five police officers with murder over the deaths of three young protesters at an anti-pollution rally.

"Musa Fatty, Babucarr Cham and three other junior officers were taken to the Banjul Magistrate's Court and charged with murder," police spokesperson, Foday Conta, has said.

"They have been remanded in custody by the court," he added.

The violence occurred at a June 18 rally in Faraba Banta, 50 kilometres (30 miles) southeast of the capital, Banjul, where locals were protesting over the mining of sand which they say is badly polluting rice farms.

Police at the scene opened fire, killing two young men, while a third -- a 24-year-old student -- died of his injuries two days later.

Another six civilians and 16 police were also injured during the protest, according to an official toll.

Gambian President Adama Barrow ordered an investigation into the incident and the inspector general of police, who said he had not authorised the use of firearms against protesters, resigned.

The police would not be involved in the government's upcoming commission of inquiry, the spokesman said.

Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International cited witnesses as saying that demonstrators had been blocking mining-related road traffic when police reinforcements arrived and opened fire without warning.

Murder is a capital offence punishable by death in the west African country.

But Barrow has placed a moratorium on the death penalty which was last used by his predecessor Yahya Jammeh in 2012 when nine convicts were executed by firing squad.

Liz Anjorin Writes Buhari On The State Of The Nation

She wrote;

Open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari. I can imagine the pain in your heart over the killings and calamities happening in this country. Carrying the Nation's burden on shoulders is not an easy thing to do. Me, myself and I as a positive thinker I will like to tell you to brace up and pray harder. My question is, who is behind these killings? Could it be people you arrested for money laundering that are behind all these killings/calamities?

The families and friends of these people will never be at peace with this country because they will see it as if they were molested. Despite the fact that you are seeing it as a discipline act, some are seeing it as evil and molestation.

Your Excellency Sir, Nigeria has no prayer or voodoo to make this Country grow but we have genius vodoo, pure evil mouth and heart to destroy this noble Country of you and I. The pains of killing is unbearable. Within 10days we've lost so many souls that can contribute to the growth of this Country. Some of this people that died are bread winners in their family. Some are the last blood line of their family. These people's little taxes can speak volume in our economy if they are alive. This sudden death and killings is not different from a parent buring their kids. Sir, if you and the whole world wants to see this as a baseless and senseless opinion, I don't care. But please Sir, I beg you in the name of Allah RELEASE EVERYBODY IN THE CLAW OF YOUR GOVERNMENT CONCERNING MONEY LAUNDRING AND PAST GOVERNMENT ISSUES. MAKE PEACE WITH THE PAST GOVERNMENT, MAYBE THESE KILLINGS/CALAMITIES WILL STOP. EXCEPT IF IT HAS TO DO WITH KILLINGS, SIR. If we work hard in peace, we will make more money and pay our taxes as at when due. Those people that are facing money laundering charges and party issues with your government might be the ones that are behind these killings and calamities to distract you from doing your job and they are using innocent souls to get back at you and their own children are overseas. Please, before their voodoo from Indian and from other African countries that has confirm evil voodoo finish us, Sir. As you can see everything look as if
