Nigerian Man Killed After Being Wrongly Accused Of Kidnapping In South Africa

A 34-year-old Nigerian, Nkennaya, has been killed while another Nigerian, Nwudo is in critical condition in a South African hospital following a mob attack.

Mr Victor Ayanfe-Oyebanjo, Secretary of Mpumalanga Province branch of the Nigerian Union in South Africa, made the disclosure in a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday.

He said that Nkennaya and Nwudo were attacked following accusations that both men kidnapped Chinonye, a six-year-old girl, who unknown to their attackers was Nwudo’s daughter.

“It all started when Nwudo took his six-year-old daughter, Chinonye, to visit Nkennaya at White River town in the evening of April 27.

“Later, Nwudo and Nkennaya proceeded to buy food for Nwudo’s daughter, Chinonye, at KFC restaurant in the area.

Ayanfe-Oyebanjo said shortly after buying the food, some bystanders raised false alarm alleging that both men kidnapped the six-year-old girl.

“Thereafter, the community did not bother to ask questions and immediately mobbed the two Nigerians.

“While they were being attacked, Nwudo kept on shouting that the girl was his daughter and pleaded that they speak to his South African wife to confirm his claim – which actually saved his life.

“The Police later intervened and called for backup to rescue the victims. Nkennaya died at the hospital on April 28, while Nwudo is in critical health condition,” he said.

Ayanfe-Oyebanjo said that a week before the incident that two South Africans were murdered for allegedly kidnapping a child in the same area.

He said a murder case had been opened at the White River Police station and pleaded to Nigerians in the province to remain calm in the wake of the unprovoked attacks.

“The incident has been reported to NUSA’s national secretariat, while the union is currently seeking redress to ensure that the culprits were brought to book,” he said.

Mr Adetola Olubajo, the President of NUSA confirmed the killing to NAN.

Speaking, the wife of  Nwudo, Mrs Katlekho Ndlovu, a South African national, also confirmed the incident to NAN on the telephone from Mpumalanga Province.

According to her, Chinonye had been traumatised by the incident and was currently undergoing counselling in an undisclosed hospital.

“They (attackers) did not bother to ask her anything and didn’t even bother to remove her from the scene before beating her dad (Nwudo) unconscious. Chinonye’s dad is in the hospital while her uncle (Nkennaya) is dead,” she said amid tears.

Venezuela's Guaidó Accused Of Attempted Coup

Venezuelan authorities say they are putting down a small coup attempt after opposition leader Juan Guaidó announced he was in the "final phase" of ending President Nicolás Maduro's rule.

He appeared in a video with uniformed men, saying he had military support.

Mr Guaidó, who declared himself interim president in January, called for more members of the military to help him end Mr Maduro's "usurpation" of power.

The military has generally supported Mr Maduro in the stand-off with Mr Guaidó.

But as resentment has grown following years of hyperinflation, power cuts, food and medicine shortages, Mr Maduro's detractors hope the military will change its allegiance.

So far, they have stood by Mr Maduro - despite dozens of countries, including the US and most of Latin America, recognising Mr Guaidó as Venezuela's rightful leader.

The world is now watching to see if Mr Guaidó's latest bid will be the moment Mr Maduro is toppled from power.

Photos: Computer Village Traders Protest, Rejet Installation Of 'Iyaoloja

Traders in the Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday shut down activities to protest the planned installation of female and male market leaders “Iyaoloja” and “Babaloja” respectively in the hub.

The traders told a Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) covering the protest that the computer village was an international market that did not need such imposition of Iyaoloja. Mr Wasiu Agbaje, an Information Communication Technology (ICT) Engineer, said that Computer Village hub was not like the regular markets where such should be imposed.

Agbaje said that installing such would undermine the hub because there was no relationship between technology and Iyaoloja. “What does the Iyaoloja and Babaloja have to offer in Computer Village, what value are they going to add to the hub? And what technological innovations are they bringing? ‘“The computer village is not like any other street market where pepper and other things are sold. “It is an international technological hub and it should be treated as such,” he said.

New Footage Shows Final Hours Of Sri Lanka Suicide Bomber Praying In Mosque

Chilling new footage shows the final hours of one of the Sri Lanka bombers as he prepared to carry out a devastating terror attack on Easter Sunday.

CCTV footage shows Mohammed Nasar Mohammed Azar, 34, praying, chatting on the phone and scoping out his target before he blew himself up in the Zion church in Batticaloa.

Azar's bomb killed 28 people in the church and more than 70 others were injured in the blast.

But harrowing new footage reveals he spent hours before the attack readying himself in a nearby mosque.

The security camera footage, obtained by Sky News, captures several hours of the terrorist's intense build up to the bombing as he arrived in the east coast city at around 2am.

He is caught on camera pulling up outside the Jami Us-Salam mosque in Batticaloa, just minutes away from the Zion Church, carrying two bags.

For two hours starting at 3.13am Azar paces up and down outside the church and checks his phone.

At one point a police car drives near Azar, but he doesn't seem fazed and the car drives off.

Azar eventually entered the mosque at 5.42am when the building was opened and spent several hours in prayer before slipping off to change into an outfit used in the bombing.

Just after 9.30am when the first bombs have already been set off in Colombo, Azar is caught on camera striding out of the mosque and disappearing out of shot in the direction of the nearby church.

He appears to pull out his phone and send a message before walking around the corner to his death.

Model Dies After Jumping Into The Sea To Rescue Her Puppies

A missing model who fell into the sea during a storm off Sao Paulo has been found dead. Caroline Bittencourt's husband Jorge Sestini was rescued on Sunday around two hours after jumping into the water to make a failed attempt to save her.

The model's own father Orley participated in the search for the 37-year-old and told a TV programme how he helped pull her body from the sea yesterday afternoon.

Caroline, known to Carol as friends, reportedly ended up in the sea after trying to save two pet puppies that had fallen into the water.

Personal trainer Can Saad, a close friend, said: 'She jumped into the sea to save two puppies of hers that had fallen into the water because of the wind.

It was just her, her husband and the puppies on the boat.

'Jorge jumped into the water to try to save her but they became separated from each other because of the storm.

'He had to swim three hours towards the coast to survive.'

The tragedy happened as the couple, who married in January, were near Ilhabela, a large island near Sao Paulo which means 'beautiful island' in English and offers visitors around 25 miles of pristine beaches, hiking trails and waterfalls.

Caroline's agent Andreia Boneti said her husband was in a 'state of shock', adding: 'Jorge tried to save her. He saw Carol drowning and wasn't able to save her.

'It was a terrible moment for him.'

US Embassy’s Compulsory DNA Test Reveals Nigerian Man’s Children Are Not His

A US embassy’s compulsory DNA test has revealed a Nigerian man’s children are not his. The man was planning to relocate his two children, when he was told a DNA test will be conducted. He agreed, and two weeks after, he got the shock of his life, the children he has been fathering are not is.

The man’s friend, Rita Ebiuwa shared the shocking story on Facebook.

''Just heard a most disturbing news this morning when a friend (male) called to tell me that the DNA test the US embassy did few weeks ago is out and its proves that his two 'children' a boy, 21yrs and the girl 17yrs are not his

He decided to do it because he was planning to relocate them to the US since he is a citizen and as such the US embassy demanded for it.

The man was never married to the woman before they had the children. In one of the guy's visit to Nigeria, that was when he met the woman and they started dating, when the guy went back, the woman called that she was pregnant.

Few years later, he came back and continue the relationship with her without serious commitment.

It is very obvious she did it deliberately because the man lives in the US probably better than the man who impregnated her, just wanted to trap the man

What is wrong with our women these days, is it foolishness or unfaithfulness that is making them commit such horrible crime?

Why not abort the pregnancy when you know you are not sure of the paternity? Why force it on an innocent man?

She should take the children back to their real father to save the children of the stigma of being a bastard

God really want to punish her otherwise she should not have agree to the DNA and imagine the trauma the children would be now after knowing that the man they call father all these years is not

The same woman is happily married to another man, the question is, will her present husband trust her with the kids she had for him?

God please comfort my friend, l know what he will be going through now''
