Getting married is supposed to be one of the exciting moments of your life.

So why not drum up the drama by posing on a cliff-edge to celebrate the happy occasion?

That’s exactly what Ryan Myers, 30, and Skye Myers, 28, from Mountain Home, Arkansas, did.

The couple had wanted a big wedding, but had to downsize the ceremony due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Rather than ditch their dreams entirely, they decided to go big in a different way: by celebrating their wedding at Hawksbill Crag, an iconic cliff on the Whitaker Point hiking route in Arkansas.

Then they held hands while standing on the edge of a cliff, just for a real adrenaline rush (although Skye was tied to a safety rope, don’t worry).

Photographer Mason Gardner captured the anxiety-inducing moment, snapping Skye appearing to hang off the side of the cliff with just her new husband for support.

Ryan said: ‘We are avid adventures and love the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, boating, camping rotate spots on our agenda, so we are always looking for the next epic adventure.

‘Somewhere in the middle of June this year, after being together for more than four years, I told her I didn’t want to wait any longer not being married to her.

‘We wanted a big wedding, but had minimal time to plan it because Skye started nursing school, and with the CDC having their regulations we were having difficulties deciding on how to proceed with a wedding.

‘That’s when we started looking at gorgeous iconic spots for an outside ceremony, so that it would be magical and memorable.’

The wedding took place at Hawksbill Crag with 12 guests, then after the ceremony the couple posed for their breathtaking photoshoot.

It looks terrifying, but safety was the priority in every moment.

‘For the photos, Skye was in a sit harness designed for climbing,’ Ryan explained.

‘Everyone included had experience and was well-trained in climbing.

‘All equipment and safety gear used was inspected and cleared by an expert.

‘Our crew was made up of myself, my best man Gage, Skye and her sister Summer, one rappelling expert and our photographer who was amazing!’
