Who Is KSI? Net Worth And Life Story Of YouTube Influencer Ahead Of Logan Paul Boxing Fight

KSI and Logan Paul may not be the most obvious people to be taking part in the biggest boxing fight of the year.

But Saturday, the YouTube influencers will do just that when they touch gloves at the Manchester Arena.

Having called out his American rival earlier this year following his victory over Joe Weller in London, KSI was granted his wish when Paul accepted the challenge via his YouTube channel.

Since then the pair have embarked on campaigns to hype the fight and of course to insult each other in the process.

But what is the story behind the man who calls himself KSI?

Early life

KSI's real name is Olajide William Olatunji and he was born in Watford, Hertfordshire on June 19, 1993.

The initials of his nickname stand for Knowledge Strength Integrity, words he has tattooed on his body.

As a teenager, he decided that his future would not be best served by staying at school but rather by recording entertaining videos for social media.

KSI has a younger brother Deji who is also fighting on Saturday, against Paul's brother Jake, and who is also a YouTube personality.

Their parents Jide and Yinka Olatunji have featured in KSI's videos.

Social media career

He created a YouTube channel which went on to attract millions of subscribers as he initially concentrated on creating videos of himself playing the popular console game FIFA.

This helped him to grow his following but in 2011 KSI decided to diversify and began to use his social media following to release rap tracks, including 'Heskey Time' - the music video for which has been viewed more than eight million times.

KSI has admitted that the first "three or four" years of his YouTube career were hard.

He said: "A lot of people think YouTube is quite easy, when it just isn't.

"I've been doing YouTube for six years now, and I’d say the hardest years were definitely the first three or four.

"You have to constantly put out content that is good just to make people come back to your channel, and I work every single day just to try and expand my brand."

KSI now has almost 20 million subscribers on YouTube.

Net worth

In 2015, Forbes valued KSI's net worth at $4.5million (£3.5m) but this is likely to have increased since then. YouTube do not disclose how much their users earn from views but KSI has also released records and a clothes line to supplement his social media earnings.

Relationships

KSI was dating Seana Cuthbert for two years from 2012 before the couple broke up.

Ms. Cuthbert said recently: "We were very young, only 17 and lived miles apart.

"He was also really busy with YouTube and did not have enough time for a relationship.

"We were quite young and he just wanted to go out and enjoy himself – like every lad does. I've moved on and so has he now."

Seana, who is 23, has 136,000 followers on Twitter and her own YouTube channel has 153,000 subscribers but is not regularly updated.

Last year, KSI was dating a girl called Lois Sharpe but he was determined to keep her out of the public eye, only releasing a video of her in October while they were in Mauritius. The couple broke up the following month.

House

KSI lives in the Sideman House with three fellow social media personalities. The luxury mansion's location has not been disclosed for security reasons but is set on a large private estate and has 24-hour security.

The pad boasts six en-suite bedrooms, a pool, cinema and gym along with a beauty salon. KSI's bedroom can also be accessed via a lift.

KSI's three housemates are miniminter (Simon Edward Minter), Zerkaa (Joshua Bradley), and Vikkstar123 (Vikram Barn) and the four of them used to live together - along with three others - in the original Sideman House.

Boxing career

KSI fought for the first time when he took on Weller in February, selling out the Copper Box in London's Olympic Park. The fight was watched by 21 million people on YouTube as KSI stopped his opponent in the third round.

By triumphing, KSI was awarded the You Tube Boxing Championship belt which he will put on the line against Paul on Saturday.

The pair are expected to have a rematch on February 4, 2019 in the United States.

Gareth Bale Falls Out With Fiancee's Criminal Dad In A Row Over His Baby Boy

Gareth Bale has kicked his fiancee's criminal dad into touch in a row over a photograph of the soccer star's baby boy.

The Champions League hero let international fraudster Martin Rhys-Jones have his picture taken cradling the Bale's new arrival Axel Charles.

Rhys-Jones, 53, was told the picture must be kept private and not put on social media.

But he posted it on a Twitter page set up to promote his book about his criminal past.

A relative of Gareth and his bride-to-be Emma said: "Gareth went ballistic when he saw the photo.

"The couple are very private about anything to do with their children but Martin doesn't give a hoot.

"It's created an even bigger rift between them."

The Real Madrid soccer star invited his father-in-law to be to the party at Elevens, the bar he owns in the Welsh capital.

It was Bale's chance to show off the little boy he has always dreamed of.

Little Axel Charles, born in May, was passed around doting relatives, all told not to post pictures on social media.

Father-of-five Rhys-Jones broke the agreement and wrote under the picture: "My new grandson and his dad at Elevens Bar - freedom tastes almost as good as the food here!"

The Bale's relative said: "Martin seems determined to upset them by ignoring their requests for privacy.

"Gareth and Emma have asked him to take the picture down but it's still there for all to see."

Rhys-Jones, who served six years in a US jail for masterminding an international shares scam, was already banned from the couple's wedding which they postponed until next year due to "family turmoil".

British Woman To Be Deported From America After Having S*x With 14-Year-Old Boy For Cash

A British woman is being booted out of the US after having s*x with a 14-year-old boy - who paid her to help him lose his virginity.

Sarah McGill had been facing up to 15 years behind bars, but was instead given five years' probation and ordered to leave America immediately.

The ruling came after she was found guilty of lewd or lascivious battery known as statutory rape in the UK.

As the probation was terminated upon her leaving the US, her sentence was effectively deportation.

The sweetheart deal with prosecutors means that the the 28-year-old hypnotherapist, from Galashiels, Selkirkshire, could be back in Scotland as soon as today, though her travel plans are unclear.

McGill's case was unexpectedly resolved on Wednesday, three days after details of her police interviews were published in which she said she felt "terrible" the boy was underage.

She had denied lewd or lascivious battery - which is similar to statutory rape in the UK and was due to stand trial next month.

But the prospect of a long jail term left her "scared", she said in a police interview, and prosecutors were apparently willing to cut her a deal.

McGill had been due to appear before Judge Marc Lubet at the Orange County courthouse in Orlando, Florida, for a pre-trial conference on Wednesday but instead she was sentenced later that day.

Julio Semino, court support manager for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, said in an email: "Ms. Mcgill received 5 years sex offender probation. She was adjudicated guilty as a sex offender.

"Her passport was ordered to be returned to her and she was directed to immediately leave the country. Her probation is to terminate upon her leaving the US."

Under Florida law, when a person is adjudicated guilty by a judge they are convicted of the crime.

A note in the court calendar says: "Court designates the defendant a sex offender'.

McGill had been arrested on April 6 after having sex with the 14-year-old in a Courtyard Marriott in Orlando.

The victim had found her profile on Quora.com which listed her under the name ‘Sophie Belle’ and texted her to set up the liaison for which he paid her $480 (£340).

The incident came to light when the boy's father found out what he had done and went back to the hotel where he called the police.

It later emerged that the boy had lost his virginity to McGill when they slept together.

The arrest shone a light on McGill's bizarre double life as she claimed to be a hypnotherapist with an office in Edinburgh.

In her police interview McGill admitted she had been travelling alone across the US - visiting San Francisco, New Jersey, San Diego and Tampa before Orlando - but claimed she was sightseeing.

When it was put to her that she is a prostitute who is paid hundreds of dollars an hour to sleep with men, she said "there is truth in that".

McGill sobbed during the two hour interview and said that "I swear I didn't know" the boy was under 18.

She said: "We didn't just talk. He wanted to touch me. We were talking and one thing led to another. That was it. I wish that I never took him upstairs. I feel like such an idiot."

McGill added in her thick Scottish accent that she "didn't come here to do anything wrong".

Through tears she said: "Whatever happened, I never had any ill intention. I'm just a very down-to-earth, normal person.

"I've never been in handcuffs or anything like that so it's scary for me. I think I should leave the country and I think I should be told off. I don't want to go to jail. I'm really scared."

In his police interview the victim said he felt "guilty" about sleeping with McGill and said that he only wanted to "spice up" his sex life because he was still a virgin and felt under peer pressure to do it.

The boy said that he gave McGill the money as a "donation" and that he wore a condom.

Aussie Rules Player Dies After Colliding With Own Team-Mate In Grand Final Match

An Aussie Rules player has died after being injured in a collision with one of her own team-mates on the pitch.

Maggie Varcoe, the sister of Collingwood midfielder Travis Varcoe, was playing in a grand final for Angle Vale Football Club in the South Australian Women's Football League when the incident happened.

A Go Fund Me Page was set up after the horror incident, hoping to support the 27-year-old's long-term partner Josh.

Maggie died in hospital on Thursday night surrounded by her family, including her brother Travis.

Pop Star MP Bobi Wine To Get US Treatment

Ugandan pop star and MP Bobi Wine has been released from hospital and is flying out of the country for medical treatment in the US, police say.

It follows claims the MP was severely beaten while in military custody, allegations denied by the army.

He, and 32 opposition politicians, were charged with treason last week over the alleged stoning of President Yoweri Museveni's convoy.

Bobi Wine was earlier granted bail but was told he could not leave Uganda.

On Friday, police confirmed that he had been cleared to fly out of the country for specialised treatment after the government sent a team of nine doctors to examine him.

Bobi Wine's lawyer earlier said the pop star had been violently re-arrested at the airport on Thursday "even though the judge had let him have his passport because he needed to leave the country for medical reasons".

"He was violently thrown into a police ambulance. The lawyers have no idea where he is being taken and we're all really in shock," Robert Amsterdam told the BBC's Newsday programme.

No Politician Has Ever Given Me Money, Seyi Law Boasts

During the week, Seyi Law posted pictures of the interior of his newly acquired house on his Instagram page. In the post, he noted that he had only N63k in his account, prior to buying the house.

While most people congratulated him, there was a post made by a journalist which called for the police to investigate the comedian’s source of income.

In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the comedian said that it was a good thing someone called the police to investigate his source of income but he pointed out that the call was misdirected at him, stating that everything he has today is from his hard work.

He said, “I feel that it is good that Nigerians are asking questions. If someone asks the police to investigate me, I think it is a good thing but I think that there are people we should demand that from. We should demand more of that from our politicians. If someone demands that the police should investigate, it is not a bad thing. However, one thing people should know is that I am one of the very few entertainers that can swear on his life that no politician has gifted me money. Everything that I own today came from my sweat. One of the questions the journalist who called me out on social media should have asked is, ‘have I fully paid for the house?’ He did not ask me and that is part of his stupidity and where he made mistakes.”

When asked how he was able to afford the apartment, the comedian gave Saturday Beats an insight on how he makes his money through comedy.

“If I invested about N15m in my Lagos show and made about N20m, I do not think I have made too much profit. If I invested about N5m in my Ibadan show and made about N9m, I do not think I have made too much profit. It means that I made a profit of about N9m. I also did a show in Port-Harcourt and right now, I am planning another show in Lagos. When I said that I lost some money at the shows I did in the UK and Dublin, I did not mean that I lost everything I invested.

“The reason I said I was so broke that I had N63,000 in my account was because  I had paid for the hall I would use for my Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja and Port-Harcourt shows among other expenses and it ran into millions of naira. These were investments that cost me about N20m. If I invested N20m for my shows and had N63,000 in my account, does that mean that I do not have money? I spoke about my landed property in the post but no one referred to it,” he said.

The comedian who is known to often share his testimony on social media said that he would not stop doing so because he sees it as a source of motivation for others who look up to him.

“I would not stop posting my testimonies on social media. I have been on a tour with PAL Pension, and my duty was to motivate students. The journalist that made that statement about my post is someone that knows me. He could have messaged me privately to explain how I was able to buy a house based on my testimony but he did not do that. That is the way a journalist is supposed to ask questions. I repeat it again and I swear on my blood and that of my mother’s that I have never been gifted money by any politician. I dare any politician to come out and say they have given me money. In fact, I have been the one that have helped most rich people I know because I could do a show for them and they would make me do another three for free. Am I not the one helping them? I have helped more people than they have helped me. I am not one of those celebrities that do good things in front of the camera,” he said.

Bishop Apologizes For Touching Ariana Grande At Aretha Franklin's Funeral

The bishop who officiated Aretha Franklin's funeral is apologizing to Ariana Grande for how he touched her onstage and a joke he made about her name.

Bishop Charles H. Ellis III led Franklin's funeral on Friday and awkwardly greeted Grande on stage after she performed "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman."

Images of the moment showed Ellis' hand holding Grande well above her waist, with his fingers pressing against one side of her chest.

The preacher apologized in an interview with The Associated Press at the cemetery where Franklin was interred late Friday.

"It would never be my intention to touch any woman's breast. ... I don't know I guess I put my arm around her," Ellis said. "Maybe I crossed the border, maybe I was too friendly or familiar but again, I apologize."

He said he hugged all the performers during Friday's eight-hour service.

"I hug all the female artists and the male artists," Ellis said. "Everybody that was up, I shook their hands and hugged them. That's what we are all about in the church. We are all about love."

He added: "The last thing I want to do is to be a distraction to this day. This is all about Aretha Franklin."
Ellis also apologized to Grande, her fans and Hispanic community for making a joke about seeing her name on the program and thinking it was a new item on the Taco Bell menu.

Anxiety Grips PDP Over 13 Presidential Aspirants

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) appears to be at the crossroads over what to do with the high number of aspirants jostling for the party’s presidential ticket.

So far, 13 aspirants have indicated interest in the ticket and there were indications at the weekend that the number may increase in the days ahead.

Those in the race are former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar; Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal; Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwabo; President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki; former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido; former Governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi; and a former Special Duties Minister, Tanimu Turaki.

Others are a former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso; another former Kano Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau; former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa; a former Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang; an industrialist, Dr. Baba Datti Ahmed; and one Ahmed Buhari

It was gathered that several meetings the leadership of the party held with the aspirants seeking the possibility of pruning down the number have so far proved futile.

It was also learnt that fears expressed by the leadership of the party over the unwieldy number of the aspirants were said to have been waved the contestants, as they were all said to have insisted on contesting.

Fearing recriminations that the outcome of the primaries might engender, the party is said to be rallying the aspirants to sign an undertaking to accept and embrace the eventual winner.

Similarly, the party is also working on them to agree to join the eventual winner in the electioneering, with a proviso that none of them would defect from the PDP zone on account of losing the primaries, The Nation reports.

HOW Teenager 'Used FSARS' To Defraud Master

A teenage suspect identified as Daniel Daisi has confessed that he faked police arrest to deceive and defraud his victims.

The Lagos-based 19-year-old indigene of Ondo State said he had relied on the trick to get money with which he would build his own tile workshop and buy important tiling tools.

Daisi made the confessions at the police headquarters, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos on Monday as one of the suspected criminals paraded at the Command headquarters. He was brought in by the team commander of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Salmon .A. Opukeme, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), from the Onilekere FSARS Station in Cement area of Lagos State.

According to Opukeme, the suspect specialised in collecting huge sums of money from would-be customers for tiling jobs only to lie to them that he was being detained by the police. He would later tell the unsuspecting customers that the police had collected the money meant to buy tiles and warned that he must not be sighted in the area where he was supposed to do the job or he would be rearrested and charged to court.

Luck, however, ran out on him after playing the trick on a customer identified as Waliu Ogundele. Following the story that Daisi told him about the police, Waliu was said to have gone to the FSARS station at Onilekere with him to demand why he was arrested by FSARS operatives who also collected the money he gave him for tiles.

Daisi was however said to be dumbfounded when the station officer asked him when he was detained and the offence he committed to warrant his arrest and detention for three days. And when the station officer went through the station’s crime register, he could not find Daisi’s name in it. The policeman then turned to Ogundele and told him that Daisi was never arrested not to talk of being detained.

Further enquiries made by Opukeme, the station’s commander, also showed that Daisi was merely lying. Confronted with the facts, Daisi was said to have confessed and gave reasons why he made false allegation against FSARS operatives.

In his confessions, Daisi said: “I am sorry I lied. I wanted to use the N5,000 and N600 he (Ogundele) gave me to solve personal problems. I wanted to buy tile tools and had been looking for money. I thought that if I lied to him that FSARS men arrested me and collected the money, he would be afraid and forget about it.”

He, however, said it was his first time of doing so.

“I was not sponsored by anybody. I wanted my master to be afraid and forget about the money. I went to learn tile work after passing out from senior secondary school, as I could not secure a job.

Expressing surprise at Daisi’s action Ogundele said: “I gave him N5,000 for a tiling job. I took him to First Bank, withdrew some money and gave him N5,000. I also added N600 for transportation. Three days later, he came and told me that FSARS operatives at Onilekere Police Station arrested him, collected the money and detained him for three days.

”I got annoyed and told him that we would go there and they would tell me why they should seize my money. But Daisi said I should not go there to avoid being arrested too. That was even what gave me the courage to go and confront the FSARS operatives at Onilekere.

“What I saw and heard at FSARS office and Daisi’s confession made me to look foolish. I started apologising on his behalf, but police said the allegation against them was too much. They said they would investigate him thoroughly to find out his other victims and would charge him to court at the end of a thorough investigation.

“He must refund my money. Let the police discipline him. He is a bad liar.”

Oshiomhole Blasts Saraki After Presidential Declaration

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has said that he has been vindicated on his comments that Senate President Bukola Saraki left the party because of his personal ambition and not because he had the interest of the nation at heart.

He said that Saraki’s personal ambition almost destroyed the APC, adding that it is a good thing that the Senate President has moved on.

Oshiomhole, in a meeting with APC leaders from Kwara State, said the declaration of the Senate President’s decision to contest the presidential ticket on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had vindicated him, charging APC members in the state to jettison their personal ambitions and work towards ending the reign of Saraki in Kwara politics.

The Chief Press Secretary to Oshiomhole, Simon Ebegbulem, quoted the APC Chairman as saying, “When I was saying that all these defections is not about APC but the personal ambition of these people, they took hired writers to say I was being too hard. But Saraki’s declaration has vindicated me.

“Thank God he has moved on, because his inordinate ambition was almost destroying our party, but he has failed.

“These are not principled politicians but bread-and-butter politicians who can go the extra mile to pursue their selfish ambitions and never think about the well-being of Nigerians.

“As things stands today, APC remains the darling of the Nigerian people because PDP is the vomit of yesterday and our people will not chew it back today; not under three and half years. People have not forgotten and people will never forget.

“In fact, a senior palace chief in Nigeria said this generation of Nigerians will not forgive the PDP in a hurry. Even to say you want to forgive, you must do reparation.

“The damage they did to our economy, the damage they did to our electoral process, even the culture of rigging was institutionalised by them. They introduced do or die politics.

“They are the ones buying weapons for young people to go into thuggery while their own children are schooling abroad. They introduced all these vices.”

He said that reclaiming Kwara state from the grip of Saraki is a task that must be done, and asked APC leaders to ensure they conclude the election of executives from the wards to the state this weekend.

He said: “The last time I spoke with the Minister, he told me we have accomplished 80 or 85 per cent. That, for me, is not good enough, because we don’t have more time. So this week, we must achieve 100 per cent by whatever means. If you can’t do it, we have to help you get it done.

“The two Deputy National chairmen working with the National Organising Secretary and the North Central Vice Chairman constitute a committee to complete whatever is left. It will not exceed Sunday this week.

“I also want to appeal very strongly that at this hour, we don’t want a situation where because of what is happening in Kwara, people who ordinarily will be quite happy to be a strong pillar of support, everybody wants to be a governor, everybody wants to be a senator or in the House of Reps.

“Our party is a party of change and we want to discourage people from putting their personal interests over and above the interest of the people of Kwara State.
