Cheryl and Liam Payne have become proud first-time parents as they welcomed a baby boy into the world. The former X Factor judge, 33, and her One Direction singer boyfriend Liam Payne, 23, shared the happy news today.

Cheryl kept her nine-month pregnancy under wraps until her last few weeks, only confirming she was expecting in mid-March with a promotional video for L'Oreal and The Prince's Trust. Cheryl shared the news on Instgram with a picture of Liam holding the baby.

She wrote: "On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever".
