Pictured! Nigerian Doctor Storms Hospital, Opens Fire On Colleagues, Before Killing Self In New York

One doctor was shot and killed and at least six other people were injured on Friday afternoon inside Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center after a former doctor at the hospital opened fire with an assault rifle, officials said.

The gunman, who was wearing a white lab coat, was killed, apparently by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the police said. He was identified by a police official as Henry Bello.

On the hospital’s website a Henry Bello is listed as a doctor employed in family medicine.

The hospital’s fire alarm system had been set off, apparently because the gunman had tried to set himself on fire.

Five the of six victims were seriously wounded and the sixth had been shot in the leg. All the shooting victims were found on the 16th and 17th floors of the hospital at 1650 Grand Concourse.
As the situation continued to unfold, at least one doctor was being treated by people inside the hospital who had tied an emergency fire hose as a tourniquet, the fire department official said.

By 3:30 p.m., the section of the hospital where the doctors were injured had been secured and the police were leading a heavily armored group of emergency service workers into the building.

Inside the hospital’s pediatric unit, a woman answering the phone who declined to give her name said that she and others were sheltering in place, unable to leave. "We are just keeping safe. We are O.K.,” she said. “All of us have to feel tense because of the situation.”

A woman who answered the phone in the hospital’s admittance office, who gave only her first name, Morgan, said that an alert went out to the staff around 3 p.m. ordering them to shelter in place. She said she was huddled in a room with several other workers.

Could She Be The Tallest Model In The World?

Models are almost always taller than the average woman - but this Russian beauty towers above everyone as she sets her sights on being named the tallest in her industry.

Towering above the average person in the street at 6ft 9ins, Ekaterina Lisina, 29, has already been officially crowned the tallest woman in her native Russia.

But the Olympic medallist and former basketball player, from Penza, now wants to set the world record for being the world's tallest model as she switches careers - as well as being awarded a prize of having the world's longest legs.

Ekaterina said: 'The record is held at the moment by Amazon Eve and she is 6ft 8in, which is smaller than me. I really want to be in the book of world records as the world's tallest model. I also think I have a chance to be awarded the world's longest legs. My legs are around 52.4 inches, which is longer than the current record holder'.

Etisalat Nigeria Chairman Resigns

The Chairman of Etisalat Nigeria Limited, Hakeem Bello-Osagie, has resigned his position. The resignation takes immediate effect.

A statement obtained by Premium Times confirmed the development, saying the decision followed “the approval of a restructuring plan for the telecommunications firm.”

Mr. Bello-Osagie, the one-time Chairman of the United Bank for Africa, UBA, was the surviving shareholder in the embattled mobile operator currently embroiled in a $1.2 billion (about N377.4 billion) loan repayment crisis with a consortium of 13 Nigerian banks.

His resignation followed the withdrawal, two weeks ago, of the company’s major shareholder, Emirates Telecommunications Group Company, which announced the decision to quit effective June 15, 2017.

Only Buhari’s Doctors Can Tell When He Will Return- APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says President Muhammadu Buhari is fast recovering from his illness contrary to allegations that he is on life support.

The National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, gave the assurance in Abuja while speaking with newsmen at the end of a meeting between the party`s National Working Committee (NWC) and state governors elected on the party’s platform.

“We are glad to inform you that President Muhammadu Buhari is recovering in a very robust manner.

“We hope he takes it easy and when he comes back, I have no doubt at all that we will have a new and active period of activities.’’

He, however, said only the president’s doctors abroad could decide when he would be fit to return to the country.

Gov. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State had recently alleged that President Buhari was on life-support in a London Hospital where he is receiving medical attention.

The national chairman, however, refused to respond to the governor’s comment, saying he would do that at an appropriate time.

“If I respond, I will be dignifying him.

“At the appropriate time, people will answer him; at the appropriate level; at the appropriate time.

“He is in a different world altogether.’’

According to him, the party’s leadership has confidence in President Buhari.

He added that the meeting x-rayed the nation, ongoing agitation for its restructuring and inciting statements emanating from different parts of the country.

Odigie-Oyegun stressed that such inciting statements are not good “for the nation`s health and have to be stopped’’.

According to him, the party maintains its earlier position on the restructuring of the country as clearly stated in its manifesto.

He further said the party’s leadership would do all it could at all times to ensure that the unity of the country was preserved.

He added that the APC leadership was ready to listen to whatever grievances any group in the country might have.

‘Marriage Is Between A Man & Woman’, Angela Merkel Votes Against Gay Marriage

Angela Merkel has voted against same-sex marriage in Germany because she believes that “marriage is between a man and woman”.

Despite her opposition, the Bundestag voted to legalise equal marriage by 393 votes to 226, and the Chancellor said she hoped the move would improve social cohension.

“For me, marriage in German law is marriage between a man and a woman and that is why I did not vote in favour of this bill today,” she told reporters moments after the historic vote.

“I hope that the vote today not only promotes respect between different opinions but also brings more social cohesion and peace.”

N4bn Judgement Against Sahara Reporters: Saraki Releases Statement

President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Thursday commended the judgment of an Ilorin High Court that ruled that the publisher of the online news platform, Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, should pay him the sum of N4 billion ($11.1 Million) as damages over a series of libelous stories published against him by the medium in 2015.

Saraki, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, stated that the judgement issued against Sahara Reporters for constantly publishing false, libelous and misleading stories that were aimed at defaming his person, was a testament that the moral arc of the universe will always bend towards justice.

“One thing is clear by the judgement, there are systems in place in our nation for all citizens to seek redress if they have been unfairly treated in any way,” the statement read, “This judgement is a fulfillment of our promise that we will explore all legal means to seek redress for all the fabrications and mudslinging that Sahara Reporters has thrown at us over the years.

“This judgement demonstrates that our justice system can and will continue to protect the fundamental human rights of all citizens from being infringed by anyone. Moving forward, the purveyors of mischievous stories can learn from this precedent that has been set. The ruling by Justice Adeyinka Oyinloye, will serve as a deterrent to all those who profit by propagating ‘Fake News’ to blackmail innocent citizens or curry undue favours.

“This judgement is definitely not a victory for the Senate President alone. It is a victory for all the victims of the falsehood which Sahara Reporters daily dole out to rubbish the reputation of innocent Nigerians, many of whom either out of fear, lack of the patience to consistently pursue a court case for years or lack of belief in the ability of the system to give them justice decided to live with the injury to their reputation. The judgement is another vindication for our country and her solid enthronement of the rule of law as against the rule of men.

“Dr Saraki believes this judgement would provide inspiration and encouragement for all those whose reputations have been unduly and unnecessarily injured by SaharaReporters and its ilk who are purveyors of false news to seek redress through the courts.

“He sees the verdict of the High Court against Sahara Reporters as a positive development with the potential to reassure individuals and firms who would in future come under undeserved attack by publications which spread falsehood aimed at maliciously casting them in bad light.

“The judgement provides a redeeming point for the noble profession of journalism which has as its sacred, cardinal principle the pursuit of facts at all times and in all situations. The journalists and news media who have devoted themselves to the pursuit of truth but appear to be overwhelmed by those who trade in falsehood and sensationalism now have a reason to be proud that they are on the right path. That is another meaning Dr. Saraki gives to this judgement.

“However, the Senate President will like to assure all and sundry that he will not spare any legal efforts and expenses, both in Nigeria and abroad, necessary to recover every kobo of the cost awarded in his favour from the defendant.

“The restitution from this judgement will be channeled to set up a Foundation whose aim will be to support pure and unadulterated investigative journalism and assist the families of real journalists that die in the line of duty. The money will also be used to support genuine publications whose owners are struggling to pay salaries of workers or meet their ever rising running cost. Part of the money will also be channelled to help lawyers who have been providing pro bono services to litigants, particularly, on cases bothering on enforcement of fundamental human rights.

“It should be noted that the methodical and dogged manner in which Dr. Saraki pursued the case despite the ceaseless barrage of false allegations thrown at him by the Sahara Reporters should assure all Nigerians that he maintains a solid belief in free press, free speech and responsible journalism and that he will do every thing legal to fight those who want to use journalism as a destructive, blackmail and oppressive instrument. This latter brand of journalism will not help our society and has no role to play in the emerging Nigeria”, he stated.

Friends Say Rihanna Is So In Love With New Flame, As Her Dad Speaks

She's reportedly told friends she's 'in love' with her new beau, Hassan Jameel.

And it isn't difficult to see why Rihanna is completely smitten with the handsome Saudi heir, as it's revealed he 'flew a life-size bear half way around the world in an otherwise empty jet' to impress her.
The billionaire - whose family own the rights to the distribution of Toyota vehicles in Saudi Arabia - wooed the singer, 29, in the early stages of their relationship with the 'seriously big romantic gesture'.

And the cuddly gift seemed to have worked, as Rihanna was spotted putting on a very hot and heavy display with Hassan while on holiday in Spain this week.

Speaking about the grand gesture, a source told The Sun: 'It sounds outrageous, but these guys are obviously in a different world to the rest of us - although even by their standards with was a seriously big romantic gesture.

Rihanna, who briefly dated rapper Drake in 2016, is so serious about her handsome new man, that she told her family about him about a month ago.

However, her dad Ronald Fenty proved to be a little surprised by the union, stating: 'I didn't know he was a billionaire. Too little money, or too much money can't make you happy, you need to something in-between.'

Like another other doting dad, Ronald has also warned Hassan of his daughter's independent nature and refusal to be told what to do.

He explained: 'He's going to have to buckle up, she's a hard-working girl, she's very independent and ambitious. Nobody can tell her what to do. 'She doesn't want to be lifted up, she wants to get up there herself.'

Melaye: Constituents File Suit To Stop INEC's Recall Process

The Concerned Kogi Registered Voters (CKRV) numbering 18, have filed a suit at a Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from commencing verification of signatures collected in order to recall Senator Dino Melaye who is representing Kogi West Senatorial District.

Addressing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, ‎the convener and secretary of the group, Olowosayo Gabriel Sunday and Amupitan Babayomi Segun claimed that                                                             names of dead persons and people who do not reside in the district appeared on the recall register submitted to INEC.

The applicants, who faulted 188,000 signatures which were submitted to INEC, noted that while 111,534 voted in the general election in Kogi West, the total number of registered voters in Kogi West is 360,098.

According to a copy of the motion which was made available to newsmen, INEC which is the first respondent was sued alongside eight other respondents, comprising some aides of the state governor, Yahaya Bello and state lawmakers from the senator's district.

In their application, the plaintiffs said, "that 2nd to 9th respondents fraudulently opened a recall register and signed signatures for registered voters in Kogi West Senatorial District.

"That some of the names of the registered voters that appeared in re said recall register were dead voters and some voters who were not even residing at Kogi State and they were at different parts of the country when the purported signatures were fraudulently collated by the 2nd and 9th respondents."

However, the convener of the indigenes, Olowosayo Gabriel Sunday, who is also the first applicant in the suit, said, "That as at the last announcement, INEC itself agreed and announced a figure of PVC collection in Kogi West that is far less than the alleged 188,000.

"That we are aware that there is possible connivance between the people on the recall agenda and INEC because we have evidence of photograph of PVCs in thousands gathered together for the recall, an act contrary to the electoral act."

He added that the move was a desperate attempt to recall Melaye.

Mercy Aigbe’s Husband Makes U-Turn, Publicly Apologises

Mercy Aigbe’s husband has made a u-turn, by apologising to the actress openly. He also confessed he still loves her and truth is, we have always seen this in his posts. Despite replying her and calling her out, that love angle has always been there. Below is what he wrote after yesterday’s initial palava. Sigh!

Jay-Z Apologises To Beyonce As He Appears To ‘Admit To Cheating' In New Songs

If Lemonade was the accusation album, 4:44 is the apology.

Jay-Z's new record was released on Thursday night, with fans immediately delving into the lyrics to search for possible responses to wife Beyonce— and they did not come up empty handed.
In at least three of the tracks, the 47-year-old appears to address infidelity, and not subtly, either.

In Kill Jay-Z, addressing himself, he raps 'You almost went Eric Benét / Let the baddest girl in the world get away.'

Eric Benét famously cheated on then wife Halle Berry.

'I don't even know what else to say / N***a, never go Eric Benét / I don't even know what you woulda done / In the future, other n***s playin' football with your son.'

Fans were quick to realize the last line referenced fellow rapper Future's attack on footballer Russell

Wilson for being a stepfather to his son, Future Jr.

In the same track, Jay-Z also appears to reference his infamous lift fight with his sister-in-law, admitting it was his fault.

'You egged Solange on knowin' all along / all you had to say you was wrong,' he raps.

In the track Family Feud - which bears the refrain 'Nobody wins when the family feuds' - even name-checks 'Becky' with the good hair, whom many believed was Jay-Z's mistress after Beyonce's Sorry.

'Yeah, I'll f*ck up a good thing if you let me / Let me alone, Becky / A man that don't take care his family can't be rich,' he raps.

Beyonce meanwhile provides backing vocals on the track.

His title song of 4:44 however appears to contain several lines of regret and apology for infidelity.

'Look, I apologize, often womanize / Took for my child to be born / See through a woman's eyes.

'Took for these natural twins to believe in miracles / Took me too long for this song,' he raps, claiming his children made him see the error of his ways.

'Like the men before me, I cut off my nose to spite my face / I never wanted another woman to know / Something about me that you didn't know.

He continues: 'And if my children knew, I don't even know what I would do / If they ain't look at me the same / I would prolly die with all the shame.

'"You did what with who?" / What good is a ménage à trois when you have a soulmate? / "You risked that for Blue?".

The chorus concedes: 'I'm never gonna treat you, never gonna treat you like I should.'

Ex-BBN Housemate, Coco Ice In Bridal Inspired Photo Shoot

The music artist and Big brother Naija 2017 house mate, Mojisola Sowode popularly known as Coco Ice who is from the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria stuns in the Yoruba traditional attire of a typical Yoruba bride in New bridal inspired photo shoot with a Nigerian Makeup brand "Taries Beauty World".

Who Am I?

I was born in the 80’s, February precisely. Born in Lagos and relocated with my family to UK at 11. Graduated from a music school, relocated back to Nigeria just to RULE YOUR MUSIC WORLD. Well, sorry to rule the female music world. I became a force to reckon with. When I came, it seemed there were no female artistes, despite they were many. I changed the game.  In being sexy it was me, hit songs me, endorsements, still me and I was your boyfriends dream.

I am still relevant, still ruling, and I intend to rule for long. My other contender, though winning African recognized awards, is on a different level from me. I am a King in my field. Who am I?

The God That Provides, The Same God That Heals

I can’t keep calm. I have not calmed down since hearing this testimonies. I have not ooo. Sigh! So we had this powerful program in church this week, and one of the senior Pastors in RCCG told us the testimonies. Wow! Just wow!! I am still not calm, lol. The second one is massive, the first is too, but the second one, just wow oh wow. The God that HEALS.

Personally, the first one has changed my mind about how God can bless you. I always believe God can only bless you through the works of your hands and probably send an helper. But when God sends angels to credit your account, what are you talking about? God of wonders! Wow! So he was ministering at a place and he told them there is noting God can’t do, long story short, they prayed and he told them to be expecting a miracle. Two men that were financially down, and I mean down had their cases settled.

One of them received an alert in millions. When he saw it, he said this must be a mistake, I am not expecting any money, I cant even receive such an amount, how, from where? Which business am I doing. So because he is a Christian he rushed to the bank. He asked to see the bank manager, after seeing him, he said, I received so and so amount of money and I know it’s a mistake. The man said thank you, he looked through the account, he asked him, are you Michael so and so. He said yes, the manager said, it’s not a mistake, the money was paid with your name. He asked the manager again, are you sure? the man said you can go sir, the money was paid in Ilorin (a state he has never been) in your name sir. Continue...

So he left. Ran to the pastor, the pastor said that is God. The man said they said one Michael paid it in, the Pastor said, do you know there is an angel named Michael? Go and spend your money. Still doubting he said, Pastor, are you sure I am free to spend this money, Pastor said please transfer it into my account, that was when he left, lol.

Not too long another man reported himself, Pastor I got an alert, and it’s in millions, Pastor said, yes yet another one again, he went to confirm, sir it is yours, they told him at the bank.

I immediately adjusted my seat, wait! God can bless me in another way aside the works of my hands? Sincerely people, I have only believed God can ONLY bless you through what you do and probably send people to bless you too. But miracle money? Wow! So I immediately added that to my source of income. God will also credit my account by Himself.

Let me also slide this in. Same Pastor told us this o. Lol, and I practically like it, try it too. He preached about God blessing people at a place they least expect, Unusual places. And there was this sister in his church, very poor. Immediately after the service, she went to meet the pastor. Pastor, I have a brother, we are two that our mother gave birth too, but he is my greatest enemy. Pastor said, how can your brother be your greatest enemy, she said, their parents are dead, and the man sat on all the properties they left behind, saying she is an illiterate and he never wants to see her again. She is the younger one.

So life became unbearable for her. She later got married, but married a poor man too, so life was more tough. So she said Pastor, I believe the message you preached is for me. Though my brother never wants to see me again, he never allows me into his house, I will go one more time because of this message. But sir, can you give me N200 to transport my self to Adeniyi Jones, were my brother lives, because I and my husband begged for money before we could come to church today.

Pastor dipped his hands in his pocket, gave her N200 and fam, her story changed.

When she got to her brother’s house, she pressed the bell. The brother came out from the balcony, who is that, he echoed along with the security man. She said it’s me sir, the brother asked the mallam to open the gate. He then yelled at her, Idiot didn’t I tell you never to come to my house again. She said I am sorry sir. He then said come in. When she got in, she sat down, the man came out, stupid girl, idiot, who told you to seat on my chair, she quickly stood up, went on her knees. And has the man kept cursing her, she suddenly remembered they were anointed in church before she left for his house, so she started robbing that part and was saying have mercy on me sir. Then suddenly, the man said, Idiot, if not that the same mother gave birth to us… bla bla. He then went in, signed a N15m cheque and gave it to her.

The following morning, she rushed to a bank to drop it. Someone at the bank now called the brother to ask if he issued the cheque, he said yes I did, paid the idiot. Lol

The following Sunday, she went to the Pastor’s office, she looked at him and smiled, Pastor let me buy you one shoe now, Pastor said thank you, and she gave him N100,000. She said that’s for a shoe. Lol. That’s how her life changed.

Phew, I wont be able to bring you the other TESTIMONY now, the healing one. So the gist doesn’t get too long. Will bring you that later today or tomorrow (smiles). It just feels good to know we have a Father who is above all fathers. The one that can do what no president can do. The one that always remembers His children. What a MIGHTY GOD.  It just feels good. See ya!

Monster Who Dismembered Girl Aged 6 Alive & Made Her Parents Watch In Drug Deal Is Jailed For Live

A Mexican cartel leader who dismembered a six-year-old girl with an axe then burned her limbs as he made her parents watch has been sentenced to multiple life sentences in an American prison.

Marciano Millan Vasquez, 34, was jailed for his involvement in the deaths of 29 people which he carried out for Zetas, a drug gang which operates in northern Mexico, between 2009 and 2015.

Among them was the six-year-old girl who he butchered on the patio of her home in front of her parents to ensure they would 'remember' him.

The killings were all carried out in Mexico but because Millan was working living in San Antonio, Texas, and was arrested there, he was prosecuted in US court and will serve his sentence there.

A 39-year-old witness told of the girl's sickening death, which he said he was forced to watch after being held responsible for a missing shipment of marijuana.

The witness, a convicted trafficker who was not named for his own protection, told the court he was forced to witness 18 killings in a single night as punishment for losing the drugs, and as a warning to cover the loss, My San Antonio reports.

At one property was a husband, wife and little girl tied up and blindfolded on the patio, he recalled, with a fire burning in a barrel nearby.

He was forced to kneel and the group had their blindfolds removed so they could watch as Millan dismembered the child while she was still alive.

Through tears, the man described the girl's screams as her arm and leg were cut off before being burned in the flaming barrel.

Laughing, Millan told the watching parents: '[This is] so you’ll remember me.'

MEET The Sisters Who Are Fast Replacing The MIDDLETONS + Their Lifestyles Will Make You Jealous

Two stunning sisters with immaculately blow dried hair, whippet-thin figures and unassailable aristocratic connections. No, not Kate and Pippa, but Lydia and Irene Forte who are fast replacing the Middletons as the most upwardly-mobile twosome in town.

As heiresses to their father's hotel dynasty (the pair are pictured, centre, with their mother Aliai, who met Forte when he was a 36-year-old playboy and she was just 16), they are already a staple fixture on the social scene, their aptitude for self-promotion propelling them to the top as fast as those 'likes' on their carefully crafted Instagram pictures tot up.

And just like the Middleton sisters, Lydia, 30, and Irene, 29, also have famous friends, including Prince Harry's ex Cressida Bonas and traffic-stopping beauty.

Irene's most notable relationship to date has been with polo-playing aristocrat Jacobi Anstruther-
Gough-Calthorpe. Take a peek into the pampered world of this impossibly glamorous pair all below…. Who doesn’t love a good profile? Continue..

A very rich dynasty

The girls are the granddaughters of Lord (Charles) Forte, who started his business with a single diner in London’s Regent Street in 1935, before building an empire of 1,000 restaurants and 800 hotels. He died in 2007.

After a hostile takeover in 1995, Lydia and Irene’s father Rocco, now 72, went on to start up Rocco Forte Hotels — a portfolio of 11 luxury hotels.

Sir Rocco (he was knighted in 1995) has five sisters. His niece, Alex Polizzi, is presenter of Channel 5’s The Hotel Inspector, making it very much a female-dominated dynasty — now estimated to be worth £340 million.

So, Lydia and Irene — who, like Kate and Pippa have a younger brother (Charles, 24) — won’t be short of a bob or two.

Nonetheless, Lydia claimed, aged 18, that her famous surname ‘doesn’t have an effect’, insisting:

‘We’re just like any other family.’

Party girls

The Middleton family might own a party planning business, but the Fortes know how to throw a bash, too.

At Lydia’s 18th birthday party in 2005, at the Forte’s former five star St David’s Hotel in Cardiff Bay, Princess Beatrice was among the 150 guests. Lydia was resplendent in a gown by designer Catherine Walker.

For Irene’s 19th birthday party, her father hosted a ‘lace ball’ at his Hotel Amigo in Brussels. The sisters wore lace dresses designed by their mother, while guests were ushered in by white and gold-clad clowns and sipped a vodka cocktail called Irene.

Sparkling CVs

The sisters aren’t short on brain cells — cultivated by an impeccable education. Irene attended £35,370-a-year St Mary’s School Ascot, in Berkshire; Lydia, the St Paul’s day school in London.

Both went to Oxford University — Lydia’s degree was in modern history and Irene’s in French and Italian — before joining the family firm. Since 2014, they have worked full-time at Rocco Forte.

Irene is brand manager — no small undertaking: she compiled a list of housekeeping rules, including four pillows on each hotel bed, and raw juices and nut bars in the mini bars.

Meanwhile, Lydia is bar and restaurant development manager and travels ‘at least once a week to all our Rocco Forte Hotel properties’. Ain’t life hard?

Clever Sidelines

The sisters recently set up Map My Future — an ‘upskilling’ phone app for employees in the hospitality industry.

Irene says the business was born out of a desire ‘to prove ourselves. We have to work harder to prove that we’re capable’.

Other enterprises include the Forte Organics beauty line, which sells products such as an almond and hazelnut scrub — a steal at £42 — and sources its ingredients from the Rocco Forte 500-acre Verdura

Spa resort in Sicily. The sisters have also had spots as ‘lifestyle experts’ in the Evening Standard newspaper. Entries include how to source healthy cocktails (Forte’s Brown’s Hotel in London, naturally) and where to find a ‘sumptuous foodie weekend’ in Sicily (the Verdura Resort, of course).

Shopping and Spas

The girls reward themselves at weekends by shopping in Mayfair —– favourite stores include Paul Smith ‘for gifts’ and shoe shop Aquazzura, whose sandals offer little change from £500.

Then there might be a gallery trip — Lydia sets herself a strict weekend to-do list that includes ‘one cultural thing with my husband’ and ‘at least one social event with a group of friends’.

Irene adds: ‘I always think it’s important to do some spa treatment research, so I tend to test a different treatment in a different spa or clinic on weekends that I’m in London.’ A tough job, but someone’s got to do it.

'Electric Shock' workouts

Pippa might have biceps of steel and a famous derriere, thanks to her ‘whatever the weather’ workouts, but fitness fanatic Irene’s efforts are more impressive still.

Her first waking activity at the weekend is exercise: a £27-a-time Pilates workout at the uber-trendy Heartcore gym, founded by celebrity trainer Jess Schuring, or a boxing class at boutique gym Kobox, near her Chelsea flat, where three classes cost £50.

Most startling are her ‘Electrical Muscle Stimulation’ workouts (£75 a session at E-Pulsive in Knightsbridge), where a machine sends electrical impulses to her body, allegedly making her muscles contract quicker, so a 20-minute workout of star jumps and running on the spot can burn 500 calories.

‘I have become an E-Pulsive regular,’ says Irene. ‘The session requires you to — and this will sound strange — wear a dampened vest and arm and leg straps, which are then connected to the electrical machine. The moisture helps to transmit the current and the rubber balls you are given to hold absorb the current aftershock.

‘The overall look is reminiscent of RoboCop.’

Clean-eating guru

While Lydia says she ‘can’t travel without good food’, Irene is a self-confessed wellness junkie.

‘I try to follow a plant-based diet as much as possible — rich in vegetables, legumes, seeds and wholegrains,’ she says.

One of Irene’s favourite haunts is vegan raw food restaurant Nama, in London, which offers a full English breakfast with aubergine bacon and herbed Portobello sausage for £12.

A £700m husband

Once tipped as a potential wife for Prince Harry, Lydia married shipping heir Dimitri Chandris last September, in a weekend extravaganza that makes Pippa’s recent nuptials look distinctly low-key.

Together since Oxford, where Dimitri, 32, was a member of the notorious Bullingdon Club, Lydia can be sure he isn’t after her money — his family is worth an estimated £700 million.

The wedding celebrations kicked off with a 90-minute Catholic and Greek Orthodox ceremony at a cathedral in the Tuscan town of Massa Marittima, followed by a dinner in the town’s medieval cloisters, prepared by a Michelin-starred chef. In the evening, there was a feast at Lydia’s grandparents’ 12th-century Tuscan castle, followed by a fireworks display in the early hours.
Seaweed clothes

Barely a week goes by without one of the sisters jetting to a far-flung exotic location and posting the photographic evidence online.

Irene never boards a plane without a cashmere scarf, ‘to rest on if you want a nap’, or high heels, and has designer organic loungewear that contains milk protein and seaweed cellulose ‘so they feel amazingly nourishing’.

Lydia, meanwhile, colour codes her outfits, so she doesn’t ‘need more than one day bag, one clutch, one coat, one pair of boots and one pair of heels’.

Instagram stars

All self-respecting celebrities are active on social media, and the Forte sisters are no exception.

They each boast more than 10,000 followers on photo-sharing platform Instagram. Often, the pair not only pose for pictures together, but wear matching clothes, shoes or bags, to boot.

It’s doubtful the doppelganger effect is an accident, however; more a bid to boost the profile of the brands they’re wearing. From Valentino dresses to Ralph Lauren jumpsuits, most of their photos are accompanied by hashtags and gushing references to designers who, presumably, are enormously grateful for the free publicity.

Friends and family benefit, too. The red shoes the girls wore to a Chelsea party last month were designed by their brother Charles’s girlfriend, while the tapestry handbags they were pictured with at a recent Irish wedding were designed by their family friend Lord Palumbo’s wife, Hayat.

Court Sentences Retired VP To Life Imprisonment For Raping 12-Year Old Girl

An Ekiti State High Court, Ado Ekiti, has sentenced a retired vice principal at St. Mary’s Girls Grammar School, Ikole-Ekiti, Taiwo Ajayi, to life imprisonment for raping a 12-year-old pupil of the school.

The court found Ajayi guilty of raping a minor contrary to Section 31(2) of the Child Rights Law of Ekiti State, 2012.

The convict was the vice principal (academics) at the time he committed the offence on March 18, 2014.

It was learnt that Ajayi lured the girl into his office, locked the door and raped her, while blocking her mouth with a piece of cloth.

Justice Oluwatoyin Abodunde held that the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt on the strength of evidence put before the court.

The prosecution was led by Mr. A.E. Arogundade of the Ministry of Justice, while the defence was led by Mr. Sule Longe.

The convict was first arraigned on October 14, 2016, and he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Abodunde said, “Cases of child defilement have been on the increase lately and to serve as a deterrent to others, my view is that the punishment stipulated by the law was deliberate to deter the offence and protect the rights of the child.

“The defence counsel is pleading for leniency and praying for a fine instead of the due punishment. My question is; who pays the victim for the lifetime scar of the trauma and torture of rape?

“I am unable to deviate from the provisions of the law in this instance. The defendant is found guilty as charged and sentenced to life imprisonment.”

Exhibits tendered included a medical report, the statement of the accused, report of the panels set up by the state teaching service commission and the statement of the victim.

Nigerian Files Lawsuit To Compel Senate To Ascertain Buhari’s Health Status

Toyin Dawodu, a Nigerian citizen, has filed a lawsuit to compel the Senate of Nigeria to constitute a medical panel to determine if President Muhammadu Buhari can discharge his constitutional duties.

In a statement dated June 28, he said he instructed his attorneys from Forthright Chambers and lawyers for Citizens Advocacy of Nigeria to file the action [FHC/ABJ/CS/508/2017] at the Federal High Court in Abuja a few weeks ago.

Citing reports that Nigeria is being controlled by a group of unelected bureaucrats, and that Mr. Buhari is in such incapacitation that even his wife is not allowed to see him, Mr. Dawodu said it was possible that President Buhari is being held by his handlers against his will, and that Nigerians deserve to know his current status and whereabouts.

Affirming his love and respect for President Buhari, and praying fervently for God to give him strength to gain back his health, Mr. Dawodu said:

“But I love Nigerian more. I fear for my country, I fear for the future of millions of Nigerians both living and unborn,” adding that hecannot stand by and allow the current leadership vacuum that exists to continue.

He stressed it is now incumbent on the members of the Senate, who were elected, to stand up and be counted to save Nigeria in her hour of need.

“I am also urging every Nigerian to impress upon their Senators to discharge their duty by constituting a medical panel as prescribed by the constitution to determine if President Buhari is capable of discharging his duty.”

Text of the statement:

IS NIGERIAN PRESIDENT BEING HELD AGAINST HIS WILL?

THE LAWSUIT FILED AT THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN ABUJA NIGERIA.  CASE NUMBER FHC/ABJ/CS/508/2017

TO COMPEL THE SENATE OF NIGERIA TO CONSTITUTE A MEDICAL PANEL TO DETERMINE THE HEALTH STATUS OF PRESIDENT BUHARI.

Riverside, CA 6/28/17- A few weeks ago, I instructed my attorneys from Forthright Chambers and lawyers for Citizens Advocacy of Nigeria to file a lawsuit compelling the Nigerian Senate to constitute a medical panel to determine if President Buhari is capable of discharging his constitutional duties.

Several reports have indicated that the country is being controlled by a group of unelected bureaucrats whose motives may not align with the aspirations of most Nigerians.

Reports have also indicated that our elected President is in such a medical incapacitation that even his wife is not allowed to see him in his incapacitated state.

It is possible, that President Buhari is being held by his handlers against his will and Nigerians deserve to know his current status and his where about.

This Press release explains my rational for the lawsuit to all Nigerians and other well-wishers of Nigeria.

In 2014, I campaigned to elect then General Buhari to be elected President of Nigeria. Here's a link to the video I uploaded to YouTube as my support for his candidacy.  goo.gl/P2EExJ

A full copy of the law suit can be found on my blog at http://ift.tt/2t7reJe

My admiration for President Buhari dates back to his first foray as head of state. In 1985, I expressed this admiration by contacting him through the Nigerian Embassy.

In my letter, to him and his administration, I outlined how he could make Nigeria a great nation economically by focusing on our strategic assets of both human and natural resources.

Unfortunately his administration was short lived.

Fast forward 2014. After three tries, he succeeded in becoming the head of state.

My support for him in the last election was based on my inclination that President Buhari can finally finish the job he started 30 years earlier.

Regardless of his current policy failures, I and millions of Nigerians are now convinced that the President, despite all his intentions, is incapable of discharging his duties. Therefore, he should resign or be forced to do so, by the Senate, or the executive council as prescribed in the Nigerian constitution.

The Nigerian electorate voted for Buhari as head of state.

Currently we have an acting President.

The problem with the current situation is that the acting president is not fully in charge of the country.

There is no proof that any elected official, including leaders of both houses of assembly have seen the President in the last several weeks.

There is no proof that even the vice President or any member of the cabinet of President Buhari has spoken to him in his current incapacitated state.

I love and respect President Buhari and I wish and pray fervently for God to give him strength to gain back his health.

But I love Nigerian more. I fear for my country, I fear for the future of millions of Nigerians both living and unborn.

Therefore, I cannot stand by and allow the current leadership vacuum that exists in out polity to continue.

There are several current agitations for the restructuring of Nigeria.

If Nigeria needs a strong leader, it is now. Unless a strong leader emerges that has the full authority of Nigerians, the country may descend into chaos.

Our elected leader is indisposed, due to no fault of his own.

Therefore, if we love our country, we must collectively urge our President to face his health issues and let Nigeria be led fully by a capable Vice President as prescribed by the constitution.

As it stands, the Vice President takes direction from the so called Cabal, who passes such instruction under the pretext that they come from the President.

No one can confirm the present condition of the President. As such, it is now incumbent on the elected members of the Nigerian Senate to stand up and be counted to save Nigeria in its hour of need.

I am also urging every Nigerian to impress upon their Senators to discharge their duty by constituting a medical panel as prescribed by the constitution to determine if President Buhari is capable of discharging his duty.

That is the basis of my lawsuit.

I love President Buhari and wish him speedy recovery, but I love Nigeria more.

May God bless all of us and bless Nigeria.

Toyin Dawodu
