Jacob Remalay allegedly gunned down his relatives under a personality called “Wrath” after his parents bought his sibling a trip to Disney World.
Westmoreland County Court in Pittsburgh was told that Remalay, who was 14 at the time, was allegedly shunned by his parents in favour of his younger brother Caleb, eight.
Doctors gave details of Remalay’s other personalities – including a witch, an old man and little girl - at a hearing to decide whether his trial should be moved from an adult to a juvenile court, KDKA reports.
Public defender Wayne McGrew told the court: “I don’t know how long Wrath has been involved but it’s getting stronger and stronger within his personality.
“Once he came out of the altered state, he was very remorseful and very depressed because he knew, the trooper testified in the hospital, Wrath came out and told everybody what actually happened.”
Remaley’s father David also gave testimony to the court, saying that he had “poor judgement” as a parent.
His son, now 16, is accused of shooting his mother Dana, 46, and Caleb dead with a gun at their home in New Stanton, Pennsylvania, in November 2016, while his dad was at work.
David is backing calls for Jacob to be tried in a juvenile court.
