The Duchess of Sussex dazzled in a stunning black one-shouldered Givenchy gown on the stage of the Royal Albert Hall to present an award to her wedding dress designer Clare Waight Keller. She completed her look with gold "Karat" heel by Tamara Mellon and a gold cuff bracelet by Pippa Small. But Royal fans could not help but notice an addition to Meghan’s ensable, which is considered a major faux-pas by the Queen.
Meghan was pictured wearing dark nail polish, which does not fit in with Royal protocol rules.
Royal protocol reportedly deems coloured nail varnish and fake nails as “vulgar”, believed to be based on the Queen's personal preference.
This means female Royals opt to wear subtle shades on their nails.
Queen Elizabeth is said to favour the subtle hue of Essie’s Ballet Slippers pale pink polish and has worn the shade since 1989.
The pale shade contrasts well with the white gloves the Queen often wears.
