The Development Consultant of UNICEF in Imo State, Barbara Nonso, who disclosed this on Saturday, urged women to always recognise when sick children needed treatment outside their homes and to take them for treatments.
Nonso spoke at a programme meant to improve the knowledge of parents and caregivers on essential family practices as stated by UNICEF.
The state Director of the agency, Mr Vitus Ekeocha, while addressing the women at the Maria Asumpta Cathedral Church and the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Imo Province I, Owerri, explained that essential family practices, which included exclusive breast-feeding, was conceived by UNICEF for the protection and survival of babies against killer disease.
