Speaking with Sunday Scoop recently, Capital Femi maintained that he never left the music industry. He said, “I am still very much involved in music; it is just that you don’t know how involved I am. I do a lot of jobs behind the scenes.
I make the soundtracks for some of the movies you see. I also supervise music videos. For me, it is about finding a way to evolve. Yes, I have not been in the mainstream for a while but it doesn’t mean I am not coming back.
I still attend events but I concentrate more on the business side of things and I am also studying how the industry is at the moment. Pretty soon, people will hear more things from me. I am working on a second album.”
Capital Femi also emphasised the impact of Kennis Music on his career. He said, “Kennis Music has touched my life and I cannot write my history without Kennis Music. Even though I am no longer with the record company, I know what it has done for my career and I appreciate it. When I came back to Nigeria, Kenny Ogungbe told me he wanted me to stick to my American style of music. He never wanted me to dilute who I was. Right there, I knew I was in the place I wanted to be.”
