He, however, said there was a need for all stakeholders in the election to play the game according to the rule. The CAN President stated this at the service of carols and lessons, organised by the Ondo State Government, on Friday evening.
Ayokunle said, “The apprehension before 2015 General election was much higher than this, even the international community said Nigeria would scatter after the election but God took control. So for me whatever the devil may be doing, Nigeria would survive the next election. The politicians are very desperate to win the election but it would only take the person with a heart of God to win. We have to appeal to the police to respect the uniform they are wearing, they should not involve in rigging, so also the electoral umpire, they have to play the game according to the rule, they should not manipulate the result in favour of any candidate.”
