The bereft relatives of a newborn baby who died after being mauled by his parents' two Staffordshire Bull Terriers are supporting the couple 'all the way', it was revealed today.

Reuben McNulty was just one month old when he was attacked in the early hours of Sunday November 18 in Peterborough and has now died almost four weeks later.

Cambridgeshire Police today announced the newborn perished as a result of his injuries inflicted by the dogs, Fizzy and Dotty.

The Staffordshire Bull Terriers, owned by his parents Dan McNulty and Amy Litchfield, have since been put down, and the couple were later arrested on suspicion of child neglect and released on bail.

Dan‘s sister Stacey McNulty was among the large number of relatives holding a vigil at her nephew's bedside at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, where he died yesterday morning.

Today she told Facebook friends she was 'feeling heartbroken' hours after posting: 'By your side all the way Dan McNulty and Amy Litchfield. So proud of my little angel of a nephew. We love you so much'.

Detectives said today the baby's death is not being treated as suspicious but confirmed the couple arrested are still under investigation.

Today the flat where Reuben was attacked was being emptied into a white van by friends and family - but the little boy's parents were unavailable for comment.  RIP!
