YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN... It Is God's Wish For U

It is a pleasure to bring the words of God to you once again. I must say, it's been long, very very long, and each time when I feel like us sharing the words of God together, something usually makes it impossible. But tonight, God has taken control and I am proud, too proud that the chapter of not been able to share the words of God is over now. Very over.

Imagine, this blog has always carried the logo 'News... Exclusives, Everything You Need To Know & YES The Word Of God.' But where is the word of God? Our long time readers will know, there was a time we shared the words here every Sunday and the outcome was always tremendous. But when devil sees any opportunity that makes us come together to share the word (light), he tries to block the avenue, because he knows he will be exposed and people will run to God. Long story short, we thank God for the opportunity to bring this back, we thank Him for personally bringing it back.

Let me laugh first, cus I know someone of you might be laughing so hard now, it's almost getting you off your seat. Is this blogger a joker? Ladun you?? Who is trying to tell us about God? Okay Okay, no problem, you know what? Ignore me, and just read what I have to say. Obviously, the devil can not tell you about God, it's God Him self that will still talk about Himself but He just needs a medium. So take this piece as a medium of God reaching out. Have you stopped laughing? Lol, cool. Oya let's get to business.

It will be a very short one tonight. Let's just quickly talk about being born again. Are you born again? Who is a born again? How can you be born again. This shouldn't have been our topic, but let's throw it all back to the beginning. Many people know the name JESUS, but many have not been privileged to benefit from him. To enjoy what other children of God are enjoying in him, because of their sins.

Jesus said in John 3:3, except a man be born-again he cannot see the kingdom of God.  What is the new birth?

New birth is the creation of a new life in man by the Holy Spirit. All men were born into the family of Satan because every man born of woman is born unclean. (Job. 25:4). Therefore in order to become a member of the family of God, a new birth becomes NECESSARY.

How do i become born again?

To be born again you must believe Jesus Christ who is the Word of God. You must believe He is the word, and only Him gives LIGHT.

You must also accept you are a sinner. That is the next thing after believing Jesus is the word of God.

Rom. 3:23 says 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God' When we sin we fall short of His glory, and ofcus we all need His glory in life. So you must accept you are a sinner and ask Him to wash away your sins.

You will then turn to Him (Jesus Christ) to save your soul.

And lastly, you must accept Him into your life as both your Saviour and Lord John 1:12. Then call on the name of the Lord! (Rom. 10:13).

Why is it necessary to be born again?

We are all born sinners. There is terrible wickedness deep within us (Jere. 17:9). We may try to suppress it through home-training or education but anytime someone really offends us, the animal in us will rear its terrible head. (Jere. 13:23). It is impossible for us to be truly good deep within us without a rebirth.

Remember God says we can only see Him if we are holy? But holiness is foreign to anyone who is not born again. He was born in sin, he sins too, so how can such a person see God?.

It is through the new birth that a man can live a holy life, which will eventually make him see God, because the Holy Spirit is in him, and will help him live a Sin-free life.

Who needs to be born again?

Is it the rich, the educated or the poor and unlearned? NO. Everybody needs to be born again. (Jn. 3:3, 7). There are no exceptions, male and female, young and old, white, yellow or black all must be born again. (Gal.6:15) and that includes you.

Let me just tell you few benefits of being born again? Now being born again automatically brings you to the winning side, and that's the side of Jesus, where there is no lack, where there are no sufferings, were there is no discrimination, where there is peace, where there is joy, where you can simply say, God grant me my heart desires and they are automatically granted to you.

When you see few Christians that say they are born again and are still suffering, ask them what they are doing behind. Ask them of that sin that they have refused to let go. Believe me people, God owns the heaven and the earth and everything in it, so how can you say you are a child of God and you are suffering?. Can a rich man's children suffer except the prodigal one? How much more God, who isn't human, whose iota of words can't go without been fulfilled.

A popular man of God once said, go and ask Christians wearing second hand clothes who their God is because 'my Father is the richest'.

Beloved, why don't we put this in practice. Ignore those who say they are born again around you and still suffer. You don't know the sin they are still committing behind. Why don't you make up your mind to serve God, live for him. Try out these things I have mentioned. Confess your sins, accept Him as your Lord and Saviour and see if He won't open the heavens to bless you.

Why don't you forget about the things you have seen around you and try this God. Atleast it will be only you and Him. Make sure you forsake all your sins, serve and worship Him alone and see if He won't turn your situation around.

Are you depressed? You feel there is no hope fore you any more? Lost your job? People around you hate you, your family members have written you off? Is your business down and you just can't say why. Why don't you just go on your knees and surrender all to Him. Surrender ALL. Surrender your life to Him, tell Him to take charge, tell Him to be the new boss. Put all your burdens on him and let Him take charge. Ain't we lucky we have a God that says we should bring all our problems to Him and He will turn them around.

Your father loves you, your mother loves you no doubt, but can they carry your burdens? Even when they wish they can, can they? They don't have the powers, the only one that has it is JESUS. And He is ready to solve all problems. Go on your knees, talk about them to Him, tell Him you are ready to come to the winning side, telling Him you are tired of the losing side. And watch Him transform your life, and watch Him make your life a new one. God bless you has you make these confessions now!

Halleluyah!

Dogara Urges FG To Increase Workers Salary

The Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara, on Sunday said that increasing workers’ salary had become necessary in view of the rising cost of living in the country.

In a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Mr Turaki Hassan, to mark the 2017 Workers’ Day, Dogara said that the House was committed to passing a new minimum wage bill.

The speaker reiterated the resolve of the parliament to enact a new wage bill for Nigerian workers.

“I wish to congratulate the entire Nigerian workers as they join their counterparts the world over in commemorating the International Workers’ Day.

“While commending you for your commitment to the service and building of the nation, I wish to assure you that the National Assembly remains committed to the passage of the National Minimum Wage Bill when presented by the executive,” Dogara said.

The speaker further stressed that the eight House of Representatives in particular, was committed to initiating other laws and legislative interventions that would promote the welfare and well being of Nigerian workers.

Dogara, however, enjoined workers, especially civil servants to rededicate themselves to duty and support government’s laudable policies and programmes.

“As you mark this historic day, I wish to remind Nigerians of the sacrifices made by the working class in nation building.

“I urge you to commit yourselves to doing even more in supporting government’s activities that will better the lots of our citizens,” Dogara said.

Okun Monarchs Want Solution To Dino, Isa feud

Traditional rulers from Okunland in Kogi have appealed for the unconditional release of the detained Administrator of Ijumu Local Government, Mr Taufiq Isa to allow for amicable resolution of an alleged feud between him and Sen. Dino Melaye.

The traditional rulers led by the Acting Chairman of the Okunland Traditional Council, the Olubunu of Bunu land, Oba Adewale Ikusemoro made the appeal on Sunday in Lokoja at a press conference.

He said Dino and Isa are their sons and they have summoned them for a peaceful resolution of the crisis.

The Police had on April 29 in Abuja paraded Isa and five other suspects for allegedly being behind the April 15 gun attack on Melaye at his residence at Ayetoro-Gbede in Ijumu Local Government.

Ikusemoro who was flanked by other leading traditional rulers from Okunland warned that if the crisis was not carefully handled it might engulf the whole of Okunland.

He said that they had also met with the state Governor, Yahaya Bello, to ask for his support on the peaceful resolution of the crisis.

Also speaking at the press conference, a group of political office holders from Okunland led by the Majority Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Mathew Kolawole said that they stand in solidarity with Isa in his travail.

They implored the police not to hold Isa further but charge him for an opportunity to defend himself in court.

Also at the briefing, the Kogi Integrity Group led by Mr Dare Michael said the police should have concluded investigations into the alleged crime before parading Isa and the others.

The Secretary to the State Government, Dr Folasade Ayoade, the Commissioners for education, Mr Joseph Tolorunleke, Finance, Mr Idris Asiwaju, and other political appointees from Okunland were at the briefing.

Kim Kardashian's Doctor Says Her Bum Is Out Of Control

Kim Kardashian's bum doctor has branded her derrière out of control - comparing it to a balloon which has been blown up then deflated.

Dr Aardon Rollins, who is believed to have worked on the most famous bum in the world, said women everywhere should take a look at the airbrushed butt before even considering surgery.

In rather rude comments, he added that now his patients come to him to request a Kylie Jenner bum - rather then a Kim Kardashian - as her sister is younger and firmer.

Speaking about the Brazilian butt lift procedure, which Kim has always denied having, he told Mail Online: "Let her serve as a lesson to anyone who wants to make a body part bigger. If they have cellulite there before the procedure, then it will be there afterwards, too. People need to think about that or it will look bad like Kim's."

And he said of the 35-year-old's bum: '"It's very big, maybe too big. Fat was taken from her waist and put into her bottom. But it's transferring problem fat to another area. Problem fat is problem fat wherever it is. It grows in the same way as it would in the place it was taken from.

"Kim has had two children, she has put on weight and then lost it, then gained it again and lost it again. It's like blowing up a balloon and then letting the air out – there are ripples. No wonder it looks like that. She has everything going against her and there is nothing she can do about it – apart from get the airbrush out."

Aaron Hernandez Drew Illuminati Symbols On Prison Cell Wall With His Blood

Aaron Hernandez scrawled Illuminati symbols on the wall of his prison cell in his own blood before he hanged himself, it has been claimed.

The disgraced NFL star was found dead at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Massachusetts on April 19.

He left suicide notes for his daughter, fiancee and gay prison lover and had also left opened his bible to John 3:16.

When prison guards found him in the early hours of the morning, they also found symbols and the word ILLUMINATI written in block capitals on the wall, WCVB reports.

Hernandez had begun to draw a pyramid, a common symbol among followers of the enlightenment group, but did not finish it, the network reports.

He had also drawn an oval with rays coming out of it, a symbol which is designed to represent the all-seeing eye of God. Investigators also found K2, a synthetic form of marijuana, in the star's cell.

Toxicology reports carried out after his death however found no trace of the drug in his system. He also penned a letter for Kyle Kennedy, the convicted robber he grew close to behind bars.

Exactly what the 27-year-old wrote in each of the notes has not been disclosed.

Last week, Kennedy's lawyer said he had not yet been given his letter. WCVB also claims the star left a letter for his lawyers.

Hernandez was serving life without parole for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd when he killed himself.

He had just been acquitted of two other killings and planned to appeal his first conviction when he died.

The former New England Patriots tight end gave his family no indication he planned on taking his own life but apparently hinted at the idea to fellow inmates.

North Korea's Kim Ks ‘A Pretty Smart Cookie’ Says Trump

US President Donald Trump offered some backhanded praise for North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, calling him “a pretty smart cookie” in a television interview that aired Sunday.

Trump’s almost admiring remarks came amid soaring tensions with North Korea over its missile and nuclear programs, with an alarmed Washington looking to China for help in reining in Kim.

Trump said he had “no idea” whether Kim was sane or not, but said the North Korean leader had faced a formidable challenge in taking over the country at a reported age of 27 after his father’s death in 2011.

“He’s dealing with obviously very tough people, in particular the generals and others. And at a very young age, he was able to assume power,” Trump said in the interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“A lot of people, I’m sure, tried to take that power away, whether it was his uncle or anybody else. And he was able to do it.

“So obviously, he’s a pretty smart cookie,” he said.

“But we have a situation that we just cannot let — we cannot let what’s been going on for a long period of years continue,” Trump added.

North Korea has kept the West on edge for weeks over signs it may conduct a sixth nuclear test, punctuated by a series of missile tests that have aroused US fears that the regime may be close to developing a ballistic missile capable of hitting the US mainland with a nuclear warhead
.
 ‘A chess game’ –

The North, defying mounting US pressure, launched its latest missile test on Saturday, which South Korea said failed.

Trump refused comment on whether the United States had anything to do with the missile test failure.

“It is a chess game. I just don’t want people to know what my thinking is. So eventually, he will have a better delivery system. And if that happens, we can’t allow it to happen.”

Hours before the North Korean test, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson warned of “catastrophic consequences” if the international community does not act more forcefully to sanction Pyongyang.

The United States has deployed a naval strike group to the area led by the carrier USS Carl Vinson, which on Saturday began drilling with the South Korean navy to practice procedures for tracking and intercepting enemy ballistic missiles.

On Sunday, the two allies concluded a massive annual military exercise called “Foal Eagle,” which involved around 20,000 South Korean and 10,000 US troops.

Betting on China

If North Korea carries out a nuclear test, Trump told CBS, “I would not be happy.”

“And I can tell you also, I don’t believe that the president of China, who is a very respected man, will be happy either,” Trump said.

Asked if “not happy” signified “military action,” Trump answered: “I don’t know. I mean, we’ll see.”

So far, Trump has placed his biggest bet on getting China to use its leverage to pressure Pyongyang to change its behavior, a strategy that has failed to produce results in the past.

Since meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida April 6-7, Trump has set aside his campaign threats to impose tariffs on Chinese imports and declare Beijing a currency manipulator.

“I think that, frankly, North Korea is maybe more important than trade. Trade is very important. But massive warfare with millions, potentially millions of people being killed? That, as we would say, trumps trade,” he told CBS.

“Now, if China can help us with North Korea and can solve that problem — that’s worth making not as good a trade deal for the United States,” he said.

Aregbesola Sets Up Panel To Probe Adeleke’s Death

Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has said the state government will set up a panel to probe the cause of the sudden death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke, who was a serving senator and the first civilian governor of the state.

This is contained in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Sunday by the media aide to the governor, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon.

The governor described Adeleke as a man of peace, who he said defected from the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the August 2014 governorship poll in the state because he could not stand violence.

The governor said the administration had planned a befitting state burial for the late politician but he said this was scuttled by some person ” crying more than the bereaved” who unleashed terror on dignitaries, who came to honour the departed soul.

The statement read, “Senator Adeleke was a man of peace. He preached peace and lived it through his life. He left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because he could not stand violence.

This was after he was beaten up by some leaders of the PDP during a meeting in a hotel in Osogbo.

“It is a profound irony and most unfortunate therefore that a few disgruntled elements purporting to protest his death desecrated his funeral with violence and attacks on innocent persons.

They dishonoured him and did his memory a great disservice by keeping his friends, political associates and well-wishers away from his burial.

“The best we could do in the circumstance was to declare three days of mourning throughout the state and fly national, state and our party’s flags at half-mast in his honour.

“The State Government of Osun, using the instrumentality of the law, is setting up an inquest to unravel the circumstances of this unfortunate and sad incident, in order to put the record straight on his death.

“We continue to mourn the untimely death of Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke. He is irreplaceable in our hearts.  We commiserate with his family, the good people of Ede, associates, friends, constituents and generality of our people on the passage of this patriot.

As we pray for the repose of his soul, we equally pray for the strength to bear this heavy loss.”

Don’t Undermine Our Economy, Obasanjo Warns Expatriates

A former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has warned foreigners and foreign companies doing business in Nigeria not to engage in sharp practices which could undermine the country’s economy.

He gave this warning on Saturday in Abeokuta at an interactive session with Indian Professionals’ Forum which held inside the marquee in the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library complex.

The former president noted that it was uncharitable for foreigners or foreign companies to come into the country and began to engage in sharp practices which they would never venture into in their own countries.

He thus warned the Indian professionals to monitor the activities of their nationals and their companies, and ensure they follow due process in all their undertakings.

He urged the Indian professionals who are doing legitimate business either on their own, in partnership with Nigerians or working in companies in the country to continue, this he said, would benefit both India and Nigeria.

Obasanjo said India and Nigeria had robust relationship which dated back to pre-independence era.

He said, “India has tremendous impact on Nigeria becoming independent. The independence of India in 1947 did not lose its impact on Africa in general but Nigeria in particular.

“As the move for Nigeria’s independence also started in the 50s. “

It is a good thing that it has also been brought to the public eye. We’re still very much on top of the matter and we’ll get it to its logical conclusion,” the official said.

Even now, I try to do that as I regularly give out cash on my social media platforms because I love helping people.”

Maintaining that he doesn’t feel threatened by top rappers, Olamide and Phyno, Yung6ix said, “I have a very good relationship with Olamide and Phyno and I don’t feel threatened by any of them. Such an interesting thing to start this Sunday morning with a christian post. Yay! Lol. So Reekado Banks in a chat with Sunday Scoops revealed his father warned him not to leave Jesus Christ when he heard from his mom that he was going into music. The young singer also spoke about his music family- MAVIN, saying the only thing they have between them is a healthy relationship.

On what has changed about him since he became popular, he said, “I am still the same person I used to be. I do every other thing I want but I no longer have the liberty of walking on the street or going to some certain places I would have loved to go. I have always been the indoor type and even when I was in the University of Lagos, I never went to clubs or things like that.”

On Mavin; “The only thing I can say we have among us is healthy competition. We encourage ourselves to do well and we’re one big happy family. We give ourselves good pressure, like when one person releases a good song, the others are motivated to do the same, or even do better. We also advise ourselves on how to do better and we constantly look out for one another’s progress.”

Military Plane Crashes Into Mountain In Cuba

A military plane has crashed in Cuba reportedly killing everyone on board.

The Antonov An-26 aircraft owned by Cuban airline AeroGaviota came down near the western province of Pinar Del Rio just 50 miles from the capital Havana.

The area where the plane came down is known as Las Lomas de San Cristóbal that is 'difficult to access by land'.

Reports suggest that eight people on board died in the crash.

The turboprop plane is thought to have taken off from the country's Baracoa Airport which regularly offers domestic flights.

The Cuban News Agency reported: 'The eight military personnel on board, including the crew, died.

'A commission of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces is investigating the causes of the accident.'
In 2002 four Britons were among 16 people who died when a light aircraft crashed in Cuba.

The plane, an Antonov AN-2 operated by the state airline Aerotaxi, went down near the city of Santa Clara, about 160 miles east of the capital Havana.

The aircraft had been on a round-trip from Cienfuegos on Cuba's southern coast and the island resort of Cayo Coco, in the north.

14 Family Members Die In Boat Accident

Fourteen people, comprising women and children from one family, died after a boat capsized in a deep pond in Southern India, local police said on Saturday.

The accident occurred in a village in the Guntakal region of Andhra Pradesh state on Friday evening when the group was taking a joyride on a fishing boat.

Local police inspector Gurunath Babu said that the boat possibly capsized due to overcrowding, but the exact cause of the accident was still being investigated.

“The victims include six women, plus eight children all under the age of 15.

“Two men were able to swim to safety while one child was rescued by locals,” Babu said.

The people who had hired the boat belonged to an extended family that had come to attend a religious ceremony at a local temple.

Every year, scores of people drown in boat tragedies across India, which are mostly blamed on overcrowding, poor maintenance of vessels and lax safety rules.

In January, 25 people died when a boat sank in the Ganges river in the eastern state of Bihar.

Navy Seal Describes How He Took Out The World's Most Wanted Man...Osama Bin Laden

The navy seal who said he killed Osama Bin Laden has described the moment he pulled the trigger and shot the world's most wanted man in the head.

Robert O'Neill, 41, a decorated veteran who fought in more than 400 separate combat missions, recounted his distinguished career in his new memoir The Operator.

The new book details the historic night in 2011 he stormed the high-security compound in Abbottobad, Pakistan.
As signs began to suggest the leader of al-Qaeda was indeed inside, O'Neill reminded himself to savor the moment knowing it was likely he wouldn't make it out alive.

Special forces breached the compound and a point man killed Bin Laden's last line of defense with the help of one well-rehearsed phrase before O'Neill came face-to-face with Bin Laden, who was shielded by his youngest wife in a dark room.

O'Neill recognized they were on to something when a breacher blew out the metal gate to the compound, only to find a solid brick wall on the other side.

While the breacher lamented their initial failure to gain entry, O'Neill said: 'No, this is good. That's a fake door. That means he's in there.'

When they finally walked into the compound, it began to dawn on O'Neill that the hunt for Bin Laden - which took nearly a decade - was coming to a head.

He thought: 'Holy s***, we’re here, that’s Bin Laden’s house. This is so cool. We’re probably not going to live, but this is historic and I’m going to savor this.'

The soldiers moved past rooms filled with women and children and made their way up a set of stairs after breaching another door.

O'Neill wrote: 'The woman intel analyst had told us we should expect Khalid bin Laden, Osama’s 23-year-old son, to be there, armed and ready, his father’s last line of defense.

'"If you find Khalid," she told us, "Osama’s on the next floor."'

A man emerged on a landing above the special forces with an AK-47, before darting behind a banister.

The point man, who learned to say 'Khalid, come here' in both Arabic and Urdu, quietly whispered the phrase - confusing the 23-year-old, who at that point was unsure American soldiers were inside the compound.

Bin Laden's son reflexively stuck his head out and said, 'What?' before he was shot in the head.

The team quickly moved up the stairs to clear more rooms, while O'Neill and the point man decided to face the architect behind the 9/11 attacks.

O'Neill wrote: 'Our tactics said we should wait for more guys, but we needed to get up there....

'And then I had a thought so clear it was like a voice in my head. I’m tired of worrying about it, let’s just get it over. It wasn’t bravery, it was more like fatigue – I’m f***ing done with waiting for it to happen.

'I squeezed his shoulder.'

When they came across two women at the top of the stairs, the point man heroically threw himself at them, thinking they were armed with suicide vests.

'If they blew up, his body would absorb most of the blast and I’d have a better chance of surviving and doing what we had come there to do,' O'Neill wrote.

When he turned to another room, he saw Bin Laden, 'taller and thinner than I'd expected, his beard shorter and hair whiter'.

A woman stood in front of him, but O'Neill didn't hesitate. He aimed above her shoulder and pulled the trigger twice, writing: 'Bin Laden’s head split open and he dropped.

'I put another bullet in his head. Insurance.'

We Are Sick Of You, Russian Protesters Tell Putin

Hundreds of Russian opposition supporters turned out Saturday to protest against President Vladimir Putin’s expected candidacy in elections set for 2018, with police detaining dozens of activists in the second-largest city of Saint Petersburg.

Protests in several cities were called by the Open Russia movement founded by arch-Putin foe and former oil magnate Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

They were held under the slogan “We’re sick of him” — referring to Putin.

About 30 to 50 protesters were hauled away by riot police in a crackdown in Saint Petersburg after around 200 people gathered for an unauthorised demonstration, an AFP journalist witnessed.

Open Russia put the figure of detentions at about 50 people, while OVD-Info, which monitors detentions of political activists, said more than 125 were detained. Police have not yet issued numbers.

“Putin is an usurper. He has to finally go. We’re sick of him,” said one of the protesters, 35-year-old Anton Danilov.

“Everything is bad. Education, health — everything has been destroyed. I want changes,” said Galina Abramova, 57.

A similarly sized protest in Moscow remained peaceful as activists gathered at the offices of Putin’s administration and handed in petitions against his expected candidacy in 2018.

“I don’t want Putin to stand in the next elections,” said Anna Bazarova, a 16-year-old student queuing up to hand in her petition.

“Our main problem is that we can’t change those in power,” she said.

She added that many of her friends had opted not to attend, fearing detention by the police.

Riot police stood guard as officers used loudspeakers to warn protesters: “Citizens, your action has not been agreed by the authorities.”

One of the organisers, Yakov Yermakov, handed out forms for people to fill out with complaints to Putin.

“Our president has already been in power 17 years. We think that’s too long. Our country isn’t developing,” he said.

The protests came after opposition leader Alexei Navalny organised the largest unauthorised rally of recent years in Moscow on March 26. Police detained around 1,000 people, including Navalny.

Navalny has announced his plan to stand for president in 2018 and has galvanised the splintered opposition movement with a powerful online campaign including videos exposing corrupt officials. He has called for another protest on June 12.

The main figurehead of Saturday’s protests, Khodorkovsky, remains a highly controversial figure in Russia. The former oligarch and founder of the Yukos oil company spent a decade in prison and now lives in Britain.

His Open Russia movement has been targeted by the authorities recently with police raiding its Moscow offices this week.

Nigeria Moving Out Of Recession – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said on Saturday that Nigeria was gradually moving out of recession.

Mohammed, who was represented by the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, Mr Bayo Onanuga, made the assertion at the biennial convention of the Nigerian Guild of Editors in Lagos.

He said that going by a recent statement by the Central Bank Governor, the country would exit recession by the end of June.

“There have been other pointers for the good news as well. For two consecutive months, the National Bureau of Statistics has also reported a fall in inflation rate.

“The exchange rate is regaining some sanity.

“As I said earlier, the worst appears to be over. We are clawing out of the woods of recession in weeks from now, “ the minister said.

Mohammed said that the Buhari administration and collective will of Nigerians had shamed doomsday prediction that our recession could worsen into a depression.

“I hope, in our various media, we shall begin to focus more on the positive developments in our economy, the growth in agriculture and mineral development, since the NBS last year, let out the secret that the Nigerian economy recorded a negative growth in the first quarter of 2016, “ he said.

The minister said that recession was not peculiar to the country.

He said that the United States of America had experienced 47 recessions, some regressing into depressions.

“Between 1980 and 2007 alone, the American economy experienced five recessions. The last one in 2007 was caused by the subprime mortgage crisis and led to the collapse of the US housing bubble,” he said.

Mohammed urged the media to stop the blame game and educate Nigerians on the efforts being made to end recession.

“Informing the people that the government is working hard to end the
recession will go a long way to give hope to the people.

“After all, it is said that ”if you keep hope alive, it will keep you alive,” the minister said.

Nigerian Djs Are Richer Than Artistes- DJ Shabzy

Kiss Daniel’s official DJ, DJ Shabzy, has declared that DJs are richer than artistes in Nigeria because DJs save more than artistes. He told showtime in an exclusive chat that unlike DJs who get to save more of their income, Nigerian artistes spend extravagantly to maintain their identity and status but DJs have no reason to do so therefore they save more of their income.

“As a matter of fact when you talk about the revenue in the music industry; DJs get to save much more than the artistes, I’m not talking about the A’list artistes now, I’m talking about the average artistes that are known.

I can tell you that DJs probably earn much more and save more than the artistes because DJs get to go for shows back to back; our standard of living is less to what the artistes will have to live on. Artistes want to change clothes every minute but DJs don’t really have reasons to go into that kind of lifestyle, because we have the name out there but less is to the identity, so it saves us much than the artistes. We are doing better than them, I’m not top notch, but I’m doing fine.”

He pointed out a key area the music industry needs to urgently address before it erodes the very essence and credibility of the creative craft. He told Showtime that in his experience in the music industry, some artistes personally pay people to pirate their own songs, just to spin a web of controversy that will promote it.

He said; “One thing I think artistes in Nigeria are doing that is not so cool and needs to be addressed is going to the extent of paying people to pirate their own songs all in the name of promotion.”
