A top official of the state Primary Health Care Agency, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said surveillance officers deployed in the council areas in the state reported the outbreak in the two councils on Saturday.
He expressed fears that the disease could spread to more council areas. The official attributed the cholera outbreak in the state to consumption of contaminated drinking water due to lack of potable water in the affected councils.
He revealed that the disease had already claimed 15 lives while 24 others were hospitalised at Charanchi Comprehensive Clinic.
