Being told 'it's not going to work out' via a quick text message.
This is exactly what happened to one woman in the US and the reason she was laid off from her job will shock you.
Until recently, Kameisha Denton of Washington, US, was employed by her local branch of the sub sandwich chain Jersey Mike's.
However she noticed something bizarre on the rota for the next few months - namely that she wasn't on it.
So she sent a text message to her boss to find out what was going on.
Her message read: "Can I please get the updated schedule".
The reply she received was downright shocking.
It said: "Hello I am sorry to inform you but it's not going to work out with Jersey Mike's. It's not a good time for us to have someone who is leaving for maternity leave in several months anyways. You also failed to tell me this during our interview."
Her boss had discovered she was pregnant and wasn't very happy with the news.
Confused, Kameisha shared a screen shot of the conversation on Facebook , writing: "I usually don’t post personal things like this but is this allowed?"
It has since been shared over 1,000 times and people are outraged for the mum-to-be.
