The Arsenal captain, who is recovering after contracting malaria, which has seen him miss the Gunners' last three games, deactivated his account last night.
Yet with his last tweet the 31-year-old Gabonese explained that 'he had not missed Twitter' and made series of criticisms, which did not make sense but suggested he took issue with the platform's handling of the issues of coronavirus, online abuse and racism.
In full, Aubameyang posted: 'I ain't missed you Twitter. So we not allowed to talk about anything?
'Only football and Super League? No more talking about Covid?! Or online abuse or racism. Nice. Even Sick (without fone) I was feeling better than now with fone.
'Let me turn it off. See u.'
His decision to remove his Twitter account comes less than a week after Aubameyang confirmed on his Instagram account he had been hospitalised with malaria.
Aubameyang told his 10 million followers: 'Hey guys, thanks for all the messages and calls. Unfortunately I contracted Malaria whilst being on national team duty in Gabon a few weeks ago.
'I've spent a few days in hospital this week but I'm already feeling much better every day, thanks to the great doctors that detected and treated the virus so quickly.
'I wasn't feeling myself the last couple of weeks but will be back stronger than ever soon!'
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is hopeful he should have his captain available for selection again soon.
